So fluffy and yummy and non-stress inducing.
Heh. This is kind of why I like the show so much. I like it a lot, love it, even, but it's so... restful. Well, as long as you stay out of the barking-madness that is the mainstream SG fandom.
The main problem with Tanith was that we didn't get to hear Peter Wingfield's *actual* voice, which is one of the yummiest things about him. (OK, I admit to having a bit of a voice fetish, but still.)
So, will this be the all Methos movie?
Because I would definitely go to that.
I liked the kid in Last Stand.
Last Stand, that's it. Yes, I loved the kid from his first appearance in Whatchamajig with the test. I was happy to see him again, and
then crushed. I thought he was good.
I wasn't too fond of Haley, but I think she could grow on me. Actually, by the the end of her second appearance, she had a little bit.
Please ... do tell.
And Then Daniel Died. Damn you, Stargate PTB! Didn't you know? Daniel is the heart and soul of Stargate! You are evil, evil people who hate Michael Shanks! Also Sam's ugly, and evil, and she has stupid hair! (To be fair, that last bit has been true from time to time.)
(also)
Michael Shanks is a horrible, self-centered person for not renewing his contract! That bastard. What does he think, he has the right to go try other things if he wants? Besides, Daniel's an asshole anyway!
It was apparently ugly. I only caught the end of it, but you can still see occasional aftershocks, and there's still a really scary Danielite contingent out there which is the only thing that makes me wish I really liked the J/S, just to irritate them.
My position is that Michael Shanks can call me.
With RDA's phone number.
Please ... do tell.
I've only lurked in the main fandom briefly at the beginning of my infatuation with the show, but the war between the shipper (Sam/Jack) and the slasher (usually Daniel/Jack) contingents was like, totally out of control. Plus, there was the whole "Save Daniel Jackson" campaign in the wake of "Meridian", which sounded like it reached a kitten-board-like proportion in terms of crazy fan reactions to a departure of a character. Apparently there were death threats, although I forget whether it was to the show-runners or to Corin Nemec. I've stuck pretty close to here and the LJ crowd since then, so I don't know if they're still active now that Daniel is back.
There was a longass article on Salon about the fandom response to Daniel's death. Complete with much discussion about the unhappy slashers who lost their woobie.
Oh, it was amusing.
If I had the time I'd dig up a link but really I'm not here.
