I knew you'd say that, Dana.

Boxed Set, Vol. 1: Smallville, Due South, Farscape
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much anything else that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
You know Sark was thinking
you think that he'll give her up?
Nah, probably not. He's got too much invested in the whole thing. But I bet he'll enjoy the hell out of toying with the idea.
Catching up,
On Alias:
You know, the bartender guy in Wonderfalls kind of reminded me of Michael Vartan/Vaughn. Similar build, same pale oval face, woebegone pretty blue eyes, and the kicked-puppy expression. The type I alternatively want to shove off a bridge or take home and feed soup.
Vaughn's British accent was pretty bad. But better than whatever the hell accent Syd was trying on. Ye gods.
Ricky Gervais was the most interesting villain I've seen on the show since the early Sloan, and that was mainly because of the way Gervais underplayed the role. (And yes, I include Sark and Lauren there, who are pretty to be sure, but whom I find very cardboardy. Plus, they look like the same person with different genitalia, which I find kind of ishy.)
On Lunch:
Had crab cakes, which are currently sitting like pieces of rock in my stomach. Oy.
On Farscape;
Ken/Frank (but not in a slashy way) spoke for me earlier when he said;
Mostly, there seemed to be a lot of stuff set up (Tormented! Space! / Aeryn's mysterious side career / Scorpy on Moya / even Granny) that NEVER paid off in any satisfying way, despite loads of potential.
Yeah. That. I loved "Crichton Kicks" and "Promises" and "Unrealized Reality", and was massively disappointed when all the cool threads were dropped. Against fannish consensus, I disliked "John Quixote", which I found frenetic and kinda self-indulgent, without the emotional whammy packed into the similarly-structured "Won't Get Fooled Again". YJQMV.
The season-ender made me roll my eyes a lot, but I wasn't too bothered since I'd kind of lost most of my emotional investment by that time.
On Stargate:
You know, I have no idea why this show pings me fannishly while Farscape never has, even in the height of its power in seasons 2-3. It's a pretty good show, with lovable characters and frequently fun plots, but there ain't much in the way of character development, which was THE thing that attracted me to the early XF and Jossverse shows. I just... like the team. Not with feverish devotion other fans seem to love Spike/Lex/John/Scully, but with enormous, yet still laid-back kind of affection--in a way that is almost familial. I want them to be happy, in contrast to, say, what I feel for Wesley or Tom Quinn from MI-5, on whom I regularly wish almost fetishistic emotional suffering. It's weird.
I would write about why I am fannish about the things I'm fannish about in the way I am fannish about, except I can't sort it out in my brain as Katie has a while back. Huh.

Sister!
Edited to note that Southern Belle Aeryn was, at least, deeply funny.
Seasoned. Work cafeteria's not too bad.
Alias fairly rocked this week, even if they did steal Speed's plot.
Ricky Gervais was fantastic -- after hearing his "Oh, I'm not an actor, I just have this one character I do" spiel on the Office DVD extras, I was really impressed.
Word to what everyone has said about Ricky Gervais. Even if he doesn't believe he is an actor, he nailed that guy. He's thinking-- you could actually see it when Syd said Julia Thorne-- and that was all it took.

Yes! Thank you!
Excellent rant 'Suela.
Two questions - when was Sikozu revealed to be a bioloid?
Which episode was Mental as Anything?
I can go investigating at one of the sites, but I'm trying to catch up, have dinner, etc., so hopefully you'll be able to answer this before I have to go digging, if you see this.
