Boxed Set, Vol. 1: Smallville, Due South, Farscape
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much anything else that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
I recorded Wonderfalls, and decided to watch SG1 "live."
I kinda like
Dr. Weir, and I really like the fact that it took her next to zero time to figure out that Kinsey is an idiot.
By the way, has there ever been any indication that
Kinsey is anything other than a political blowhard with his head up his ass? I'm almost wondering if he's a pawn of someone else.
I also laughed my ass off at the reference to
"Shrubs" and the fact that Kinsey delivered the Florida vote.
Whitefont: I liked Weir too. Kinsey was working with the NID for a while, but I don't think there's been any previous indication that he's working for someone. He did have kind of a weird "I know something you don't know" vibe in LC 1, though.
Very much agreed, Katie.
What really weirds me out about the character, however, is that he looks and sounds frighteningly like of one of my uncles.
Completely unspoiled, I have a theory.
Weir will only replace Gen. Hammond until the Atlantis Stargete is found, then she will be the head of that project after Kinsey is castrated and sent to hell in a handbasket.
The latter is just personal preference for a secondary solution
Completely unspoiled, I have a theory.
It could be withches?
(Sorry. Couldn't help it. Havent read the whitefont yet ... just finishing the 11p viewing)
ETA: Hope your theory -- all of it -- is right, DCJ. Liked
Weir
. And the scenes
at Jack's
were fun and sweet.
I agree with all of you. And I adored the Jack-Daniel interaction, but that probably goes without saying. Okay, and the Daniel-Teal'c. And I was actually quite touched by the Sam-Jack. Everybody was good.
whitefont quote:
"No more beer for you!"
Other whitefont quote:
"My depth is immaterial to this conversation."
And, yeah,
Kinsey is seeming like he thinks he's got some power (other than his VP-ness) backing him ... hence, all should bow before him.
Be interesting to see how that plays out. Erm, if it does.
Hee. The scene with the orange was the Best Thing Ever. Loved that.
How much do I want to hug them all?
The interactions were brilliant, and Daniel especially cracked me up -- he's doing early season mannerisms -- I guess it's because he's impassioned.
I love the new actress. She was great in Earth 2.
Totally cool episode. Caught it on the repeat last night.
I imagine Kinsey has some juice behind him. But I wonder if he's just behaving as though he has more control over the SG program than he actually does. Who does Dr. Weir report to? Because I don't think it's him (Kinsey). From vague threats to rabid lunacy, his behavior doesn't seem very stable either.
But I do enjoy the transitioning they're doing with the general through-line of the show.
