I like the way the walls go out. Gives you an open feeling. Firefly is a good design. People don't appreciate the substance of things. Objects in space. People miss out on what's solid.

Boxed Set, Vol. 1: Smallville, Due South, Farscape

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much anything else that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

"Don't think of yourself as an organic pain collector racing towards oblivion." Dogbert to Dilbert

Do many other regulars in hour-long shows do so much other work?

Carl Lumbly (Marcus Dixon on Alias) voices the Martian Manhunter on Justice League

A couple of other notables - Michael Dorn (Worf from TNG and DS9) does voice work on Duck Dodgers (he voices the robot henchman of Marvin the Martian), Justice League (he voiced one of Darkseid's henchmen), Spider-Man (he voiced Kraven the Hunter), and Kim Possible.

Keith David, who seems to be everywhere, voiced Despero in the Green Lantern Corps episodes of Justice League.

Wil Wheaton (Wesley Crusher on TNG) voiced (and will voice again) Aqualad on Teen Titans.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Did Michael Dorn do it while he was Worf? That's really all I'm talking about -- free time. MR seems to be in three series at the same time, and I know just one can be a time suck.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

MR seems to be in three series at the same time, and I know just one can be a time suck.

Judging by his screen time, he probably has all the time in the world.

God knows, we wouldn't want to focus on him when LANA'S IN DANGER!

Admittedly, that's a lot easier to write than a complex character portrait of a semi-evil billionaire obsessed with an adolescent farmboy.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Carl Lumbly (Marcus Dixon on Alias) voices the Martian Manhunter on Justice League

So the Martian Manhunter is really a Black Lectroid? Cool.

you can call me bob.

Speaking of voices...

has anyone else noticed a Medicare commericial that is narrated by...well, i think i'm wrong...Lilah? Or...it's someone else with a similar smoky voice and it's throwing me off.

It's a remora, dimwit.

I know Alexis Denisov and Mark Hamill have done a lot of voice work. It's probably very attractive as acting work that doesn't require too much of the physical, and more flexibility in types of roles since they're not confined to what they could visually pass for. For instance, with voice work, AD and MR can play very ugly men.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Alexis Denisof doesn't have that much on his resume, and Mark Hamill probably couldn't do much else. Which might sound harsh, but he's so good at the voice work that I'm glad, for whatever reason, he gravitated there.

Judging by his screen time, he probably has all the time in the world.

No! He's running around the set goosing everyone.

But by that, shouldn't poor Sam Jones have written the next great American novel?

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

No! He's running around the set goosing everyone.

I find this mental image ridiculously pleasing.

And you know what? In a couple of minutes, I'm going home. And you know what's at home? Three DVDs filled with FIVE. HOURS. OF VIDS.

Hee hee hee. Vid crack.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Mark Hamill have done a lot of voice work.

he has a surprising versatile voice. For example, he's the Joker on the Batman series.

Keith "make your panties wet by reading the phone book" David does a lot of voice work, including "Spawn"

It's probably very attractive as acting work that doesn't require too much of the physical, and more flexibility in types of roles since they're not confined to what they could visually pass for.

plus, you don't have to be in the same place as everyone else. MR can go into a studio in vancouver and do his lines.

Hee hee hee. Vid crack.

SA showed me an Angel vid -- I can't remember the actual song title, but she said people would know it as the "Whatever" vid.
