I'm wondering about the
staff weapon blasts since a) Wells took one in the chest and was seriously wounded but couldn't be moved and b) they showed us the new flexible shield thing for the flak jackets they were trying out when the documentary guy got all gung ho "I wanna try it!" Although it seemed to be experimental so maybe it wasn't in the jackets yet.
Ooh, sorry, Vonnie. Though applause for your fortitude at making it this far.
Eh. It was literally several months ago. Someone on LJ mentioned it without a cut-tag, which made me pissed off for a while, but I'm reconciled to it now. Kind of.
Let me tell you, after that, I thought long and hard about chucking my spoilerphobicity to hell and getting down and dirty with the ho-dom. It was a touch and go there for a while.
Heh. Well, as you know I don't even pretend to spoiler purity when it comes to Stargate, so I've got no room to talk.
OK, stargate technician guy with the
chevrons (for the 7th chevron, I like to change it up a bit and say, 'locked'), and the that's pretty much my job, and the close iris open iris?
Loved it. ETA:
and then they even made it kind of sweet at the end with the whole "SG teams like to know we're there," bit. Awwww.
How much do I love seeing Adam Baldwin again? A lot. A very lot.
I adore the looks the other gate techs give him when he's finishing that spiel. Like, "oh, God, there goes Walter again."
Okay, that was one really good ep. Though I gotta say that near the end I was starting to feel pretty sorry for the documentarian.
My cable reception was stunningly crappy, though I did get the gist of the episode, and most of the snarks. Just no flow.
First off, that preview better be misleading, because, well, because I said so.
Adam Baldwin was great. Came over much more military without being bluff and stony. This was the first other SG team I thought that managed a personality.
I don't feel sorry for the documentary guy. At the best of times, what he's doing would be incredibly annoying. Security clearances need to mean something to someone.
So ... Pete? Poor guy, I wonder if he's getting any.
Really? Ya'll liked it? I thought it was completely disjointed and mostly filler. And the whole interview segment about Jack and Sam seemed entirely out of place as they have spent the last four or so episodes bringing some closure to that question.
I think Part 1 is stronger once you've seen Part 2. Put together, they're good enough for me to actually be honestly critical of them, which is pretty rare when it comes to Stargate.
But yeah, Part 1 is fun but pretty disjointed seen on its own. (Heroes was originally just one episode, so some of the stuff here almost certainly is filler.)
