I'm just hoping for a "Some Kind of Wonderful" plot turn, that's all.

smonster, I wrote just about this today. Lori and I were discussing the SKoW connection. But it's different.

1. I hate Lea Thompson and I like Rachel Bilson.
2. Summer isn't going out with a damned obnoxious guy.
3. I personally would be equally satisfied/upset if Seth went out with Summer as if he went out with Anna. In other words, they've done the impossible, and made me like Summer, 'cause otherwise, I'd be pro Anna only. That's the trick. In SKoW, I never liked LT's character and was always pro MSM's character.

Summer, though a raging bitch, is a raging bitch I care about. I like how funny she is. I like how she interacts with Seth, not like he's a flea on her ass, but with some grudging respect. the timing between the two actors? FANTASTIC.

I also like how Summer will get her girl's back, even if that girl is Marissa. I also like how Summer is somewhat damaged by her parents but not in an "Oh Woe is ME" way.

AB's the lynchpin of the show, what elevates it above what it probably was on paper.

Bears repeating.

as the one who wants Seth but can't have him, don't we all identify? (we=people who want Seth, of course)

Since you don't read Natter you wouldn't know this. But The Seth, My One True Television Love... it's true you all can't have him, because he's MINE.

And when I finally saw the premiere, it kinda looked like they suddenly discovered writing for AB. Because good as he was, his material has gotten more tailor-made.

Rumor has it that he ad libs a lot of the throwaway lines.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

::weeps with the beauty of it all::

AB is timing guy. He's got it with Bilson, he's got it with Gallagher.

They need to have him opposite Abercrombie Bitch and see what he can do.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

As for chemistry, it was apparent then (spoon on nose moment), but the scene in the hospital when Luke got shot? Pure magic.

Oh, that scene is a thing of beauty.

And the hot tub, with the grandfather's girlfriend, was also priceless.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Also, smonster can attest to my immediate and visceral reaction to seeing Anna for the first time. (IIRC, it involved hurling myself at the teevee moanscreaming "OH MY GOD I WANT HER!")

Yeah. When I finally saw "The Debut," my reaction was HOLY FUCK WHY HASN'T ANYONE BEEN RAVING ABOUT THE ONLY COOL CHICK IN THIS COUNTY!!

aka, GAH!

And when I finally saw the premiere, it kinda looked like they suddenly discovered writing for AB. Because good as he was, his material has gotten more tailor-made.

Still haven't seen the premiere, but ITA, ita. (heh. had to do that once. sorry.) I wonder how much is improv'd. That whole 'jewfro' and 'dry desert heat' stuff in the TJ episode just killed me.

They keep bringing it up, too. The 'you have each other' came up TWICE in this ep. Brought up by Sandy both times, IIRC.

(still haven't seen spoon on nose moment. sad about this)

You know, judging from previews, if I read the backs of heads correctly, GGF is single. She should come round.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Oh my. You just made me love hime more.

WRT Summer-- I too like her for all the reasons Kat just mentioned, especially her loyalty to Marissa. Maybe Anna and Ryan can get together...

I like them as pals, though. They're the only opposite gender pair being both civil and honest. I do hope Ryan tells Seth to stop being Summer-blinded for a second.

pshaw. he lives under amyth's desk. it's true. she lets me borrow him.

WRT SKoW, you're right that LT's character sucks. This is more of a Xander/Cordy/Willow thing, except Anna's a lot spunkier than s2 Willow. Summer had me at 'rage blackouts,' personally. And I loved how she has Marissa's back, ready to kick Holly's skanky little Farrah-haired ass.

edited to remove erroneous implication that holli is skanky and has farrah hair. a thousand apologies, oh ye of great class and lovely tress.

But Ryan is so busying being Marissa blinded. I do like Anna and Ryan as pals. Physically they would be a cute petite blonde pairing.

I think that Summer/Seth are way more like Cordy/Xander than not. Which is good. and I like.
