Rory and Lorelai are codependent. It's what the show is built on. They'd share a lymph system if they could. And yes, Rory's haircut is unfortunate. It's the exact wrong length for her face shape - last week with a center part she looked like a ridgeless Klingon. The side-part blunts it a bit. I just want to go all Hec on her head and give her a nice pixie cut - she's got the features for it, and it'd cover up some of the forehead.

Isn't this S4 of GG? (I wouldn't know, except I checked TWOP and unless they made up a season's worth of recaps, there have been 2 seasons since the last time I watched.)
Jess and Teppy -- you are me!
I swear, I could not believe that Rory showed up at home post-date. Come on! And then to talk about being away from home -- yeah, stay away for five minutes.
I was also hoping to love it as much as I did in Season 1. . . but it's not happening.

Yes, but it didn't grate -- to me -- in S1. But by the time you get to college? Suffice it to say I'm glad I didn't watch the episode where Rory moved in to the dorm (I read the TWOP recap), because having your Mom stay over? I would have been throwing things at the TV.
Oooh! And was the decorator Traci Lords, porn star? Although she also looked like Rebecca DeMornay (whose name I bet I just misspelled).
It is Season 4. Huh.
Season 1 ends with Lorelei engaged to the English teacher. Season 2 ends with Sookie's wedding. Season 3 ends with Jesse going to Cali.
It's so hard to keep track of these things.

Mustang Max! I loved him! My favorite episode was the snow day epsiode.
Why yes, the decorator was played by Traci Lords, porn star.
And last week's episode was very good -- I attribute that to Jane Espenson. I wonder how many other episodes she is writing this year?
I think it is grating now because Rory's older, and they've shown that it's not so much the two of them against the world. They're capable of making their own friends, having relationships, but Lorelai can't actually commit to someone new, because an actual husband might intrude her all-consuming relationship with Rory.
This season's going to bother me if we don't see Lorelai's money problems come crashing down on her. She's been out of work for months, and even then from her lifestyle it seemed she was living paycheck to paycheck. There is the fanwank that she got a child-support check from Rory's father, but since Rory's 18 and has moved out, that would stop. And now she's spending money like a new dictator's wife right after the revolution. If her inn isn't immediately profitable, she could get very broke very fast.
