Missing in action since 2002...

I maintain that the playoffs were the original catalyst behind the demise of Firefly and the reason that nothing of any value will ever survive Fox.

(24!)

you can call me bob.

OH! Bit in the butt by that one.

Did 24 have to deal with the playoffs in it's first year?

Nope. 24 started after the playoffs, partially because they wanted all 24 episode to run with a minimum of breaks.

Thanks for all the fish.

This is from a couple of days ago, but I thought I'd comment.

Okay, I watched my tape of Highlander "The Gathering" and now I'm thinking that they intended Richie to be an Immortal all along -- esp. after reading the synopses of the 2nd episode where he is searching for his "real" parents.
It's never made clear on the show, and if I remember correctly it's one of those things that behind-the-scenes stories on differ. It's always seemed likely to me, though.

Canada allows fewer commercials to be aired than does the US. This means that we have an extra 4-5 minutes in an 'hour' long show. So in Canada there was a clear explanation on the show. There was apparently a lot of confusion about this issue, with all the Canadians not really getting why people were confused.

I had to stop reading when the overviewer(?) says that Faith was the slayer called when the Master killed Buffy. I mean...Kendra was no Faith, but you just can't skip right over her.

Heh. Tina, I even posted a comment, saying that...

Religion isn't the cause of wars. It's the excuse. - Christopher Brookmyre

Okay, as a big reader of X-Men comics and X-Men fanfic, I just want to say, that X-Men comicsverse recap is the funniest thing ever!

Maybe not quite so funny if you've only seen the movies, but it's got great background for most of the major characters.

Hey, Tina, I liked Dawn. I think skipping the second half of season 6 was a big help. It would have been cool if they'd had anything to do with her after first ep of season 7 (Potential doesn't count, because a) it only underlined the underuse and b) they dealt with the implications of Dawn getting the Slayer power without once mentioning the Key thing, which is so lame it defies description), but she got some good lines, which was something.

Behold my incredible run-on sentence power!

Art Crawl!!!

Elena -- you mean that they clearly explained that Richie was a future immortal in the first episode?

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

So, the Tivo's been picking up La Femme Nikita for me recently and I've watched a few episodes.

I'm supposed to find Michael attractive, right? Because the mullet and the complete lack of facial expression are problematic.

I'm supposed to find Michael attractive, right?

Not necessarily. I mean, it took me a while to think he was, and then I was all Micheal'N'Nikkita4Evah!!!!1!! except not ironically.

I've outgrown that stage, and if I ever write another LFN story, it'll be the evil kind that makes the fandom disown me. (Except they can't, because apparently, I'm part of the fascist evil cabal that controls it.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Michael looks odd if he doesn't have bad hair. One gets indoctrinated. As handlers go, he makes his CIA namesake look like a total wimp, and he knows from the greater "good".

I love him. I'd be more of a shipper if I loved Nikita too. But I do love him to pieces.

If you ever get around to seeing how the series ends (my GOD, the final season makes the end of XF or Highlander look like high art, and in so few eps), then you need to read Dana's fic whose name escapes me that's set after it. It's so right.
