I am not...I am not the damsel in distress. I am not some case. I have to work this. I've lived in a cave for 5 years in a world where they killed my kind like cattle. I am not going to be cut down by some monster flu. I am better than that. What a wonder...how very scared I am.

I'm not sure if this has been debated before, so forgive me if it's old ground -- but I'm wondering if it would be possible to update or expand the glossary? I'm asking this without really knowing exactly what needs to be expanded -- things like "blipverts" for example? I suppose it would be a terrible pain in the butt to program it like the html/quick-edit pop up works, but that would certainly be helpful to newbies like myself. I've picked up a lot since I started posting, but I often have to ask irritating questions in the middle of conversations if I want to know what's going on. I'd much rather go look it up and not interrupt the flow of the conversation.

I think sometimes the language becomes such second-nature to long-time posters that they forget how confusing it can be. Anyway, no worries if the answer is "No, newbie! Lurk more! Use context clues!" Just thought I'd ask.

Thanks!

I'm wondering if it would be possible to update or expand the glossary?

I'm working on it for the FAQ - but I can't say I have a huge list of words. And others will undoubtedly think of more than I. Anyone who wants to should send suggestions for ones they know or don't know that they think should be included (including definitions and Nilly'd origins if you know them/can find it). Profile addy, it is good.

I'l list them here when I get to the Dialect section of the FAQ.

Speaking of, and I'm just checking, Jon did you get my e w/the first round of updates?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The glossary is aimed at Buffista specific words -- like foamy, say, and less with the standard internet terms or general pop culture (into which blipvert falls, being a Max Headroom ref).

Or it'd soon become unmanageably huge.

Yes, but my taxes are a priority right now. :)

Our wings are not tired.

Taxes, boo.

Kristin, I just ask in thread when I can't place a term. I operate under the assumption that it is a pop culture reference that I have missed along the road.

Buffistas are very kind and rarely make me feel like a stupidhead for asking.

What is even happening?

New name suggestion:

Bureaucracy 3: None of Us is as Dumb as All of Us

This idea was stolen from a BHP link in Minearverse: link)

Introducing it, BHP said:

Because it's amazing how you can put ten smart, informed, witty people into a room and produce an entity that is COMPLETELY INCAPABLE OF REACHING A CONCLUSION.

And...well...I just thought of Bureaucracy.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

(Oh deer lowered, how much do I love the Demotivators catalog? Lots! End natter. Sorry)

I like that title for B'cy. Better than any suggested so far that don't hew to the "Like...only" format.

Polling again? If we stopped picking names right now, we mightn't need a new thread for quite a while.
