"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I also worry about our linking to sites like that in the FAQ. It's one thing to have individual people post about it. It's another for the whole site to endorse it.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

What Dana said. I don't mind mentioning the word "Bittorrent", but I don't want to link to any of the sites that use it.

Good point about Amazon.co.uk & au though. I can probably get associates income through those as well.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I think if we're talking downloading, we should mention BitTorrent.

I don't think we should. Even if we don't mention specific sites, I'd hate to have the MPAA's attention drawn here by a Google search for "BitTorrent."

a Google search for "BitTorrent."

Good point. Having the words "buffy" and "bittorrent" in close proximity could draw unwanted attention.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

Can I suggest, if it hasn't already been brought up, a section on what the right-hand column threads are for, and what to post in them?

Press: General news, no natter Beep Me: Personal announcements, no natter

And I know this risks reopening fresh wounds, so I'll leave off commenting on what's appropriate for Press, but I liked Hec's formulation, which I can't now find, of what's appropriate for Beep Me - something like first-degree-of-separation events only? and maybe going grey announcements that are for more than three-four days minimum?

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

But "buffy" "usenet" and "downloading episodes" doesn't?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

But "buffy" "usenet" and "downloading episodes" doesn't?

Compared to product recommendations? I don't think so.

Art Crawl!!!

Does the Tuesday night TNT Angel need a separate mention?

Jon B. - Apr 06, 2004 6:47:10 am PDT #9272 of 10005
A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

How about:

You can try to download episodes using one of the multitude of Internet file-sharing schemes or find someone on an auction site who will sell you a set. Buyer beware. Have fun.

Does the Tuesday night TNT Angel need a separate mention?

Isn't that covered on the TNT schedule page?

Ann, that's a ferret.

maybe going grey announcements that are for more than three-four days minimum?

My general principle -- if I'm going dark long enough that people are likely to say, "Where's Fred?," I'll post it in Beep Me. Generally, this means about a week or more.
