Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Well, you can't REQUESt that Shawn stop being anything, as you are not the boss of her. You can say that you are upset by her snottiness and you would like her to stop it and see how she responds.

Is the warning procedure ... and what it is meant to be used for ... part of Nutty's Cheesebutt thingie (that's weird to write) along with proposal and voting procedure?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Therefore I request that Shawn stop being snotty to me amd to acknowledge that it is not the 'way of this board' to intentionally be mean toward anyone, as per Wolfram's 'reason not to be' above.

Charity begins at home.

I've yet to see you apologize to the numerous people who took issue with your tone over the past two days. Defend your tone, yes. Apologize, no. Frankly, I don't care if you apologize, but don't go after Shawn for the same thing.

(And if I'm wrong, as is always a possiblity, someone please feel free to Nilly my head off.)

Not having has never been the thing I've regretted most in my life. Not trying is.

Points at Dana's post and nods.

Me,too.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Okay. And for something completely different...

Where do the local 'istas lists live? Is there a Chicago/Midwest one? What is involved in creating/maintaing one?

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I'll be happy to admit that I was snotty to Rafmun, because I already did. And I'll admit being mean to people is not the way of the Board. And that Rafmun's original post was perhaps the meanest thing I've seen posted here in a while, if not ever.

Yes. This.

Actually, I'm not sure I ever advocated one, though it was somewhere in the mix with the war thread.

Oh, I meant War Thread. It just seems to go hand in hand with Politics these days. At least in my head.

And hey, you're right. Grandpa War Thread kicked the bucket back in September. So if anyone wanted to propose one, I think that, despite my strong anti-proliferation sentiment, I'd probably second it. Just to give the talk a place to live that I don't have to look at.

I'm kinda of meh on the issue but I'd probably third it. But I'm sure as hell not proposing it. Maybe I should write that last part twice. :)

Shit's all sorts of different now.

PROPOSAL

I propose that there be a Politics Thread. This thread would be for any discussion regarding politics, ways to become involved in politics and other subjects having anything and/or pertaining politics. Domestic or foreign.
