Bureaucracy 2: Like Sartre, Only Longer

A thread to discuss naming threads, board policy, new thread suggestions, and anything else that has to do with board administration and maintenance. Guaranteed to include lively debate and polls. Natter discouraged, but not deleted.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Lance says he can't delete the threads, because he doesn't like the precedent it sets -- they are in a "free for all" section of the site, after all.

He's suggested putting a disclaimer and re-pointer in the header -- I asked him if he could put it in each "real" thread, and also if he could remove "Buffistas" from the thread names.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

No pointers, would be my wish. I'm all from removing our name from the folder header, and if you'd like to remove your picture, could that be done?

But I don't want to leave any breadcrumbs in those threads at all.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

Yeah, I can see his no-delete position, but if he can change the name, then I don't think you need either the disclaimer or the pointer, really.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

What Michele said. Just ask him to drop the word "Buffista".

I'm concerned that not everyone will know where we've moved.

If she follows and re-registers to avoid our blocks, he will then take action.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

ita, I know you posted this once, but could you post the new PF link again?

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I guess I see his point, but...feh. Not having that kind of control over "our" threads was why I always preferred WX.

Definitely remove "Buffistas" from the title, and also get rid of out Stors, if they're still there.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

When we first set up Diaspora Natter, Lance offered us our own folder, much as what he's given us now, but we were already pretty settled in at WX so we declined.
