Steph: I was just thinking that there are a lot more Buffista-specific words that aren't in the FAQ.

Dana: I think that's the sound of someone volunteering...

Tina: I have a list started and will add to it as people throw em out there. If they come with definitions and/or Nilly'd links to their origin - all the more helpful.

Oh - Steph - if you want to do this - please do. If not, I have no problem doing it myself.

So the acrimony was a plus for you personally, eh?

Heh. Yeah.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

It's so pretty! Thanks, Jon.

Thank you, too, Sophie, btw.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Ooh! I like the burgundy NAFDAs.

Excellent suggestions, Sophie. Merci beaucoup.

tina, I have to say, I took a look at the FAQ, and the sheer number of changes resulting from the end of the shows makes me twitch, so thank you for volunteering to update it.

I won't say I'm not a bit twitchy. I just hope folks will be patient with me as I take the time to sort it out and inevitably get stuff wrong (email/e-mail anyone?).

But I really am happy to find something that my non-techno understanding self can do to help the board.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Also, I added a link the the NAFDA entry in the FAQ from the Etiquette page.

Off to have some dinner!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Oh, beautiful! Noticeable, but it no longer looks like the board is shouting.

emphasizing the [NAFDA] in colour is a great idea too!

Jon, I hear you on re-arranging the page that's already been settled. My logic is simply to make it as easy as possible for newbies to integrate nicely without misunderstandings and such. If I've just googled "timminearwantstobemyloveslave4evah" and come across the buffistas, I'm going to be itching to get into the discussions - little letters on the left and right won't distract me for long. Big suggestions about how to get started at the top of the page will hopefully catch my eye.

Not going to comment on the other 600 posts that preceded this (except to say I've never felt un-welcomed when I have posted, and my lack of posting is due to my own time constraints and general quietness. I'm a quiet gal in my other online communities mostly) - uh, where did this sentence start? oh yeah - but I just thought doing something mechanical to ease that process for the newfolks might pay off.

Now I do have to run off and do some of that work thing, feh. Thanks again for, you know, that listening thing.

More groundswell for Sophie's etiquette in the main board slug suggestion.

Our wings are not tired.

Opened up and noticed the bold NAFDA and popped in to see if it just changed and while I read the last few posts it changed to maroon. Like it. Even being here a while it is easy to forget what is NAFDA.

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

Hey, Jon -- can we make the logged-in items crosses maroon as well then? The red is a little off to me next to the maroon highlighting in the main area of the page.
