Wesley: We're going to bring Angelus in alive. Connor: No we're not. Gunn: I thought you said capturing him wasn't an option. Wesley: Changed my mind. Connor: Change it back.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

FWIW, she did offer to help at the F2F in concrete ways, which is a nice thing to do

she did. and I'm sure that she thought that the way to get on our good side was to be as helpful as possible. I don't fault her for that. I just think that she should have realized that the gentle admonitions were clues to change her behavior. We are masters of the snark, we _mock_ nice people.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Well I know when I de-lurked I got a nice welcome, as so many do. I think I made a joke about the "scary internet people" which got some attention and things were fine. Then I was just here - one of the buffistas. Noticed sometimes; ignored others - just like everyone I suspect.

Of course, then I got into a couple of bureaucracy kerfuffles that I probably should have been a bit less intense about (certainly one I didn't have that strong an opinion on, but somehow got my back all up about it anyway).

Coming on too strong is definitely not a good way to de-lurk, at least on average, IMO.

Speaking of that handy ol FAQ. (Be warned, I'm doing this in tiny chunks.)

First, though, Board How-to

Nothing incorrect that I can see (yay!). DX mentioned some redundancies with the FAQ - but we will get to those later. What is on the How-to right now all works and is good. (The earlier disc. on navigation seemed to indicate folks were generally OK with the nav. instructions there. They seem really clear to me.)

Now. The FAQ.

Table of Contents.

(Changes are in bold.)

Seems the warning about spoilers in the actual FAQ should be updated. I put Angel 4.22 as a placeholder that might be right. (Used to be 3.22).

How about:

Warning: This FAQ may contain spoilers up to and including the full run of Buffy, Firefly the Series and Angel 4.22.

Lots of other stuff in the ToC will change as things are deleted/archived. But that is for then.

The Resurrection and the Life

Totally minor: but there are "e-mail and email" inconsistencies. (OK, minor my ass, I can't help it, my inner proofreader is rejoicing at this delicious find.) It seems like "email" is the standard for the text - but the link on the left is "E-mail admins". I think it should at least be one way in the same sentence though, so:

Q: Cool! How Can I help....

A: (Fourth sentence: change "E-mail" to Email, change third "e-mail" to email.)

Cafepress: DX asked if there was someway the link could also point to Bitches and F2F merch.

Coming soon...(or possibly in a while): General!!

Question:

I'm thinking it makes more sense to write this as if Angel is already over in the US (re: tv schedules) and not as if it still has 5 eps to air on the WB. It's just a minor change to make in 5 weeks, I guess, though.

Opinions?

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Hey Tina, my opinion is to go ahead and write it as if it's done.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Yeah, as far as episode positions and stuff like that go, keep in mind that the notes I sent you were done last September, so update as necessary.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

DX mentioned some redundancies with the FAQ

I'm pretty sure that everything in the How-to is also in the FAQ. That was done intentionally.

Totally minor: but there are "e-mail and email" inconsistencies.

But... But... one is a noun and the other is a verb!
yes, I just made that up, but go with it

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

But... But... one is a noun and the other is a verb!

The OED agrees, remember? (email: noun. e-mail: verb.)

The OED agrees, remember?

Seriously? My find is for nought then. It is correct as is. My MW doesn't make the distinction. Stoopid MW.
