Posts about other TV shows premiering, or a marathon of a TV show, etc., seem much better suited to Natter.

Yeah, good point. I was, as you noted, referring to the DM discussion. Of course, I still don't get some of the nuances. Then again, I don't usually post in there and am a world champion scroll paster.

Sean, I need the quotations as a text file, one quote per line, in this order/format:

Thanks, ita. I've got your post marked. I will pester people with quotes for me to format later.

Political posts, as well.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I always got the idea that if there was a demo, or something you could do like send a letter that press was the place for it. It does say general announcements, and beep me is for personal stuff. The occasional political announcement has been part of press from the beginning. If you want to change now, it seems like a change in culture, and I wonder what has altered that we need it.

OK - doing a quick threadsuck of press - just a sample to show the variety of posts:

1) Post from Victor Sept 26 2002 - a Poetry festival

3) Spidra LE BAL DES VAMPIRES

11) Lori - environmental cleanup day

23) Daniel Jensen - announces creation of spoiler sluts chatroom

30) Lori - Announces availablity of Margartet Cho tape for Cho fans

105) Sophia Brooks - announces never before seen Twin Peaks pilot

Posts 167 and 168 - recall of unsafe diving equipment

Post 177 - Jen offers a laptop for sale

Post 196 Jim donations for Glen Quinn Memorial fund

Post 246 - Punk Rock Aerobics

Post 254 - Cindy - Infant Formula recall

Post 266 Besty H.p - Newest Harry Potter book

Post 273 - Consuela - San Francisco Peace March

Followup announcements by JZ and Betsy on it.

Post 293 Java Cat 2003 National Legal Fiction Writing Competition for Lawyers

In other words Press has always been for a variety of things including politics. The common thread -

something upcoming, not past.

Something you can attend or do - buy a ticket, come to a rally, take part in a competition, submit a paper, make a phone call send a letter.

So if we are going to suddenly restrict it, this is a change in culture - and I think needs a strong argument.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Can I ask a Stompy question? How exactly do I see the "Buffista Calendar"? Someone mentioned seeing an anniversary listed there -- I'd love to know when to wish people the happy.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Nilly owns the calendar, and she's very diligent about making the announcements from it, so everyone knows when to wish.

For all I know, she keeps in that wonderful thing she calls a brain.

Thank you, ita! (I'm sorry if this is Natter -- please stomp me here if I should have put my thanks elsewhere.)

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

For all I know, she keeps in that wonderful thing she calls a brain.

I think it involves a code based on strategically placed knots on a piece of twine.

All is well that ends in pizza.

FYI:

23) Daniel Jenson - announces creation of spoiler sluts chatroom

1. Jensen

2. It was a web site, not a chatroom.

Not that it matters, except, you know, it is my name....
