I'm assuming we'll be debating until someone comes up with a better title and people can choose it, or people decide that being offen(ded/sive) ain't that big a deal.
Which may happen before or after Elena's return.
'The Girl in Question'
A thread to discuss naming threads, board policy, new thread suggestions, and anything else that has to do with board administration and maintenance. Guaranteed to include lively debate and polls. Natter discouraged, but not deleted.

Well, among the quotes that lost in a deathmatch despite being apparent favorites were Cordy's "softer side of Sears", Willow's Istanbul, Oz' "huh", and Olaf's babies-eating, just to name a few, of the top of my sieve. Is there a way these can be mixed for a thread title? Like "softer side of eating babies" or any other of the possible permutations, only in a witty way?
I nominate "Pearls of Whedon", in order for there to be a new thing to vote down, if nothing else.

I'd like it if it were accurate. But unless I'm mistaken there's pearls of Fury, DeKnight, Goddard, Smith, Espenson, Minear, Greenberg etc.

Yup. Inspires: "Who said that? ME. Who? ME!"
"Who said that? ME. Who? ME!"
Oh oh, let's use this.
I'm all for not offending people with a thread title, and I see from subsequent discussion that even though the word has its own Very Special Deathmatch Meaning, that doesn't really make it that much more palatable as a thread title for many. Good enough for me. ETA: And I get it. That sounded like I'm conceding something, and that's not what I mean. I mean, I get it.
I kind of dig softer side of eating babies
ETA: OK, and this - "Who said that? ME. Who? ME!"
I would just like to say that I am very uncomfortable at the thought of taking our wonderfully multicultural board and suddenly declaring it specifically USian, and non-USians who might attach a different meaning to some USian phrase should just suck it up if they find that phrase offensive.
Yes, the majority of our posters are USian, and the Joss shows are distinctly USian, but declaring the board as primarily USian flies in the face of our behavior as a whole to date.

I like it too. But I also like Gus' suggestion. Oh, the dilemma!
