Victor, I said on Bitches yesterday that it's almost become like lurking at Worldwide Communications. I don't fully understand what I'm reading, yet I can't look away.
Bureaucracy 2: Like Sartre, Only Longer

Is chain smoking a sport?
You mean...I'm an athlete? RAWK.
There's a new Artist Thread, too.
Can't we just whisk the Diaspora folder away? You know, like the tablecloth? And leave those threads behind?
What's really strange is she's not really doing anything ... nasty. She's creating kind of prosaic threads, not "Buffistas are fuckos!" threads.
I don't know if she thinks that she's got squatter's rights there or something.
It appears to me that she's creating threads with subject headers, trying to attract someone with any of those interests to talk to. And since "The Buffistas" aren't there (right now), she has "inherited" the "abandoned" folder.
Many apologies for punctuation abuse.
ETA- I don't think the concept of "backup" has occurred to her.
I strongly prefer the filk version on top. We run the risk of taking ourselves too seriously, and the filk avoids that. But as always, if the community rules, I will happily abide.
I think it's just that there were no doors to lock there. If I suddenly lost access to a board I posted on daily, I'd be running around looking for somewhere to leave my digital trail, too.
insent, ita.
She's also got our logo on her site now. Just FYI.
Jess, I know it is upsetting, but a)We can't really do anything about it and b)Do you really think her site gets much traffic?
I know, and no, Laura. And I'm sure we don't have any kind of legal rights to the logo (and even if we did, copyrighting images on the internet's pretty much a lost cause), I just hate seeing our name used that way.
Actually, we do have legal rights to the logo. Copyright basically goes like this: You made it, it's yours. It's just that such things are a huge pain in the ass to enforce.
