A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Oh, too bad. Jengod gave us her password, etc. We could've changed the admin contact to you if we'd known to do it ahead of time....

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I doubt it's a big deal, since Jen has a month to do it.

And if it is a big deal, I apologise to her quite sincerely.

That damned Jesse.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I told you to fire her. No one listens to me.

Nobody

I just got it for a year, even though 10 years would have got us a discount.

Oh ye of little faith!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I didn't know! I just do what I'm told!

Bah.

Nilly from Quotable:

Well, as far as I can remember, we still have the four 'big' characters (Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles), Tara, Joyce, Spike, Angel(us), Faith, Dawn, Jonathan, Andrew, Wesley, Jenny (?), the short-term characters and baddies, the images, and that's all I can come up with.

I think we might want to let the thread close and open up a new one, considering we've spent 8,000 or so posts on simply minor (but just as lovable) characters.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Cool! Yay, Jesse! Yay, jengod!

Also, Cindy, I should probably clarify that I wasn't apathetically and somewhat sluggishly opposing your suggestion, I was apathetically and somewhat sluggishly opposing Victor's. (I think, Victor's.) Putting it front-page, was what I was opposing, though not very vehemently.

Anyway, I guess I should verbalize a little on why I get squeamish. There are two aspects, one valid and one quirky. The first is that I'm proud of our existence as a donation-based, advertising free board. The Amazon affiliate program, while a) free money and b) relatively unobtrusive, is still advertising. I don't want to look at Amazon's corporate name, or have reinforced its brand placement, every day. This would apply to any affiliate program, or other advertising.

The second aspect is a just-me thing, and it's very old. I personally dislike Amazon and would not buy from them if I could avoid it, because of the one-click patent mess. It's just a geek thing, but it's one I feel pretty strongly about, so the lower profile our pimping Amazon can be, the better. Would I feel better about it if it were bn.com or half.com or whatever? Probably, but then see objection the first.

Now, of course, if people are already buying from Amazon, that's great, no problem. And if those people want to give buffistas free money that's great, and we should make it easy for them. But, I feel, not at the cost of giving up our mindshare.

Victor's suggestion, of course, was just a donate-here link, which is not advertising, but not overwhelmingly needed at the moment, so back to, eh, regarding that.
