We can come by between classes. Usually I use that time to copy over my class notes with a system of different colored pens. But it's been pointed out to me that that's, you know...insane.

WRT the consolidation, what ita and Trudy just said.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Change is hard. I don't much like it, but it's inevitable.

Especially if we want to conserve usage and keep the Phoenix online. I agree totally with ita in,

just about every one (thread) discusses stuff I have no interest in. Which is when I skim. Sometimes it dominates, and I'd rather it'd stop, but it always has. I don't think it's happened to a degree where I felt that other topics had become verboten, and I sincerely hope that it won't happen with this particular consolidation.

It's pretty obvious that the tenor of the consolidated thread will be different (inasmuch as that can be separated from the topic), and I am sad that this will bother people.

Whether we agree or disagree with the outcomes, whether we voted yes or no on a question, these are the outcomes. Whether we feel mildly or strongly about combinations and changes, these are the results. I suggest we accomodate to them as best as possible, at least until we see how things are going to go.

Art Crawl!!!

The waiting a month to see how the threads will work together is not good because: a. Stargate just went on hiatus and b. Smallville doesn't come back from Hiatus 'til October.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Okay, so, what's our timetable here? When do we need to have a new-thread title and slug by?

Nobody

I think when the available answers are "yes" and "no" - it doesn't matter so much whether or not the ballot questions were decided from the get go (I don't agree these questions were - Kat's initial proposal was undetailed, and she took a lot of input), because in the end, we each have the same amount of say as to whether or not something passes.

If I can get four seconds, I can propose tomorrow that we change our name from "The Buffistas" to "Toe Jam". A stompy will open Lightbulb and I can ignore everyone's input for 4 days. It doesn't matter. What matters is how they vote.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Just for the record, I hate IKEA. I only read Farscape and Smallville, and post very little. I don't mind it as a thread title which will change (a la South SmallScape 1: IKEA!!!!!), but not as IKEA 1: A Dog with Two Bones.

I think that the thread title should at least give some sort of idea what the thread is about.

Also-- people should realize when voting that if they don't like any part of what is proposed, they should vote no.

Swouncing

I'm with ita and Beverly.

For the record, in practically every question in the ballot that referred to a thread I don't post in, I voted "No Preference" (OK, other than the two that had no arguments against closing them). I didn't feel like I have the right to make desicions that won't affect me but will affect other posters.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Ikea = nonsense, to me. Let's be descriptive and specific.

Combined TV Fandom #1: SV, FS, dS, SG-1.
slug: If you can decipher the titular abbreviations, come in and chat about them.

So, specific, but obscure enough not to draw in the general TV talk; detailed, but expandable; emphasis on fandom and off general TV.

Thrive to spite them

Trudy---personally I don't like Ikea, but I realize that a lot of people who participate in the threads do like it.

However, I'm just upset that people who have nothing to do with our subcommunity, no matter how small, got to decide it's fate, and now we may not even get over ruled in the name.
