It's not my thread, but what about something like Smallville/Farscape/due South 1: IKEA!
Bureaucracy 2: Like Sartre, Only Longer
A thread to discuss naming threads, board policy, new thread suggestions, and anything else that has to do with board administration and maintenance. Guaranteed to include lively debate and polls. Natter discouraged, but not deleted.

Not from me. And DS is the first thread I go to every day.
Okay, I'm way behind on the undesirability of a "general tv thread." What's bad about that? It seems the most effective way of reducing threads, to combine everything that isn't ME.
Not a facetious question. I must have missed that discussion, because it seems like an accepted undesirable outcome, and I don't remember why.
I don't like the Ikea name. I would like it to be something that would keep the thread "our" thread and not something that would turn into a general tv thread. Because that isn't supposed to happen. We're already being asked to change our subcommunities due to the vote of people who probably didn't have anything to do with our threads, please don't do anything that will take away more of who we are.
I am entirely too fond of lingonberries.
I'm unhappy about Farscape (which I don't watch, and therefore don't care or want to read about) merging with two threads I read daily.
I'm unhappy about Farscape, a thread I read daily, merging with two threads I have no interest in whatsoever. Let us go out, and together shake our fists at the universe.
The Ikeaists will likely be the heaviest users. Who's with me? Do I get secondses?
It doesn't matter to me, because I never read any of those damn threads, but I really strongly dislike the name.
Can we let the people who use the threads decide on the title?
I really, really wish the ballot question as written had left Farscape out of the mix, as was discussed in Lightbulb. Grouping it with the DS/SV stuff isn't going to make anyone happy on either side.
There was a vote. I doubt any of us is unilaterally content with the outcome of all the questions, but this is the way we hacked out of the wildness to do things.
Also? After a certain amount of shakedown time, combined threads may settle into something we can all live with. If not? I suppose we can propose changes, after--what? six months? We can deal for six months, right?
