Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Well, I'm not a slash fan--I don't hate it, but I don't auto-slash every two men I see, either--and I'm less than happy with the Fic/PPO/Anthology combo and Farscape being lumped with the two slashy show threads. But in the interest of decreasing usage and preserving the board, I'll either learn to Nilly or not read those threads.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Yeah, for the record, I don't like thread titles that are incomprehensible to the casual reader. An in-joke in the subtitle is a little better, but it ought to be clear to all what the thread is about.

askye speaks for me on this.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Thanks, Nilly.

Does anyone really think a thread title like PPO was easily comprehensible to the average reader? Come on, ya'll. We've always had our in-jokes.

Thrive to spite them

Except someone else said that.

On the other hand, we're trying to keep the combo thread low profile and specific so it doesn't mutate into a general TV thread.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

Way condensed version of the Ikea thing: The Ikea thing is because someone in Light Bulb suggested something like a fannish TV thread to combine FS/SV/DS and Kat (the other Kat) said that the name made her think of Finnish TV and the Finnish made her think of Ikea. Other folks found it funny and thus was the Ikea idea born.

I think Ikea is hilarious, fwiw. But I never post or read in DS/FS/SV, and I can understand how others might find it a little too obscure.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Bev, PPO got maybe a post a month.

You're not really in any danger of increased slash in Fic as a result.

I'm unhappy about Farscape (which I don't watch, and therefore don't care or want to read about) merging with two threads I read daily.

Since the people who like "Ikea" seem to Really like Ikea, I propose we name the inaugural thread, at least, Ikea. The Ikeaists will likely be the heaviest users. Who's with me? Do I get secondses?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Please don't name it Ikea.

Sorry, askye. When I looked up the reference, I got your name instead of Jesse's. Not enough coffee yet.
