A thread to discuss naming threads, board policy, new thread suggestions, and anything else that has to do with board administration and maintenance. Guaranteed to include lively debate and polls. Natter discouraged, but not deleted.

Sean, I think a four day discussion, at least with the easy ones and with an eye towards hashing out others that may never make it to ballot is possibly the only way to discuss. If we let ourselves talk it forever, we're going to be screwed because we probably won't agree because we will have strong feelings about certain threads. (In my head, I keep thinking, NO! NOT SMALLVILLE. . .)
Kat - If there's stuff we can't include on the ballot for this proposal, but don't realize that until Lightbulbs discussion makes it evident, can we agree to not moratorium it out of business for six months. I can't think of a for instance, but do you know what I mean.
Elena re: Quotables - I am sorry. I didn't realize how long the deathmatches ran. I also didn't know your Angel-getting was up in the air.
Cindy, we'll be getting Angel on Space on Thursdays (when are they airing in the US?), the big question is when are they going to air on ASN, and will it be before or after the US gets it.

Good idea.
(Were we supposed to revisit the length of the moratorium at some point? Or was that something else? My memory is faulty.)

Kat, I misaddressed the above to Raquel, originally. Housekeeping items, ahoy.
Cindy, are those suggestions for Kat to add to her proposal?
brenda - thank you.

Here, it will be Wednesday nights at 9 (8 central) after Smallville for people who watch on regular WB affiliates.
As a matter of preference, logistically, rather than repurposing existing threads, I'd be happier with closing existing threads and opening newly-purposed threads that replace them. Sort of along the lines of what Katie said, but regarding all our housekeeping. I'm thinking about archival purposes. If I want to download an archived thread and search it for, say, Buffy previously info, it would be more consistent for me to be able to search the archived Buffy previously, without it's Angel repurposing.
We can make the net balance of threads work whatever way we want, but on the whole, I'd rather close and reopen than repurpose existing threads.

We were brenda, and I think that date has already happened, although I'm not certain. Other than the grandfather question on the casting items issue, I don't think we've had to mention either grandfathering or the regular moratorium at all. I don't know that anyone has any issues with the length. Right now, I'm inclined to say it ain't broke, so let's don't fix it.

If it's not on the ballot in the first place, why would it be subject to a moratorium?
Close Buffy Spoilers Lite
(I think it's the one closing we all can agree on.)
I agree!
Change the name of the Buffy/Angel Spoilers thread to "Angel Spoilers"
This seems like a silly thing to vote on -- There are no Buffy spoilers so this doesn't repurpose anything. It's just a name.
If we never vote on it, there is no moratorium. So I'd assume that any suggestions that came up but didn't make it to the ballot would be fair game whenever, moratorium not withstanding.
So I got four seconds (Sean, Brenda, Lori and Burrell), now what?
In fine Pink Gingham Junta fashion, should I have a coup de board and just move the conversation to lightbulbs since it was never closed after Raquel withdrew her proposal?
