Due South/Stargate/Highlander
I don't watch any of those, so I have never stuck so much as a toe in that thread.
Buffy ,'Empty Places'
A thread to discuss naming threads, board policy, new thread suggestions, and anything else that has to do with board administration and maintenance. Guaranteed to include lively debate and polls. Natter discouraged, but not deleted.

I like the idea of consolidating the Buffy threads and opening a general TV thread, because I find it hard enough keeping up with the few threads I participate in now, and having to dig through Natter to discuss Alias or some new show is just too much for me to handle at this time. Making the main Buffy thread the only Buffy thread after closing Quotable with the Ultimate Deathmatch makes sense. I think we could just close the Previously on Buffy thread wherever we find it, and pick up the numbering (or start back at 1) with a Previously on Angel thread when the syndicated reruns kick in without any fuss. I think the Firefly thread will need to remain open, with the DVD release due in December and discussion following that, plus the movie potential on the horizon. I anticipate that if we don't open up a general TV thread (or one focusing on Buffy alumns), the Firefly thread may morph into a TV thread, like it became the Miracles thread back when it was running.
After visiting other boards on a variety of topics, I know that I would appreciate having a place for quality Buffista discussion of other TV shows, rather than having to brave the wilds of the Internet.

This is one reason why I'd really like general TV discussion to have its own thread -- if Firefly (or Due South, or Smallville, or Buffy) morphs naturally into a general TV thread, that's all very well and good for the Firefly, Due South, Smallville or Buffy posters, but how is the rest of the board supposed to know that that's where the discussion is?

True. This discussion today is the first time I've ever heard that the DS thread is actively used for other shows as well. I'm not personally bothered, as I don't watch any of the shows mentioned, but if I were looking for, say, Stargate SG-1 discussion, I would never have guessed that that was the place to look (even if I thought there was Stargate discussion going on at all).
Given all the threads we can close soon, I don't think there should be a problem with a general TV thread. I'd prefer a general TV thread, rather than ME alum specific, only because it'll give us an idea of what Buffistas watch, and what's going to be our next thing. People who aren't interested can still post in Natter about their shows, as they always did, in white font.
If it is a flop, we can close it after one thread. If it's a success, it gives us a decent way to gage the TV interests of the community and if there's any show that needs its own thread.
If someone proposes, I'll second.
OK, I'll propose a general TV thread. (edit to clarify: I propose a thread for all TV shows that are not BtVS, Angel, or Firefly).
I don't watch a lot of shows, but Jess' point is good. Didn't occur to me to go look in the dueSouth thread for SG-1.
Raquel - do you want to add anything to that (not that you can't do that after slogging it out in i Lightbulb ), but do you want to make it NAFDA with no white fonting required, etc.?
I would highly recommend that a general TV show thread be declared NAFDA, or somehow marked as "if an episode of something has aired, but you haven't seen it, enter at your own risk..."
And no need to whitefont if anything's aired.
I've been pondering. White fonting TV shows doesn't make sense to me, but I know that other folks on the board don't want to be spoiled, esp. for the reality shows. Also the NAFDA factor applies.
How about: NAFDA, anything that was in the previews for an episode is legal, white-font for one week after original air date. If the show is in syndication, no white-fonting necessary.
When should I take this over to Lightbulb?
Well, counting Cindy's second, you can take it over to Lighbulbs once you have three more.
Except I'll second, too.
Which means you need two more seconds.
