But what about board precedent? One could argue that precedents previously set have as much right to grandfathering protection as the FAQ.

Don't know, Kristen. Wasn't watching the show. But we were on TT, not our 'own' playground like WX or here. I don't know what, if any, policies were agreed upon at TT, or what we would have done had we been on our own.
I do know that there wouldn't have been a Bureaucracy thread on TT at that point, and I'm not entirely sure that there were even 'Buffistas' then.
