Caroma - aside from all the political fights, that's not even why I want you warned.

FTR, I didn't feel the political fighting merited an official warning either.

I want you warned because you intentionally spoiled people in Natter, when you know it is a current season spoiler free zone, and because you insulted posters with cracks about their physical appearance, in a discussion about the ethics of arguing politics.

This is why I requested the action. Even if the post were factually accurate (which it isn't), there is no justification for the flaming contents of that post. Ever.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Cindy, thanks for the detailed report. It's educational to see it all laid out like that.

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

Just to throw in my (rather late) 2 cents:

I don't follow Natter - moves too damn fast for me. However, I caught up on this latest incident, and, as the guy who is ALWAYS against offical warnings & sanctions, etc, I have to say this:

She deserves it. Stomp her, stomp her hard.

Nobody

Cindy, thanks for the detailed report. It's educational to see it all laid out like that.

Heh. I just came back to delete it, because for me, the big issue is really the spoilage and the flames. And also, because I probably lost about 1/3 of it, which was where I made points. Feh. I write too much. I'll let it stand though, and thanks, Nutty.

Thanks amych for performing the stompy duties. I can't imagine it feels very good wrt a Buffista who's been here a long time.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I can't imagine it feels very good wrt a Buffista who's been here a long time.

Not very good at all. But it seems like we got through it -- or through this stage of it, at any rate -- about as painlessly as possibile, which I think is a good sign for the system we've finally hammered out.

Amych, did we agree that posting the warning in Press was the procedure?

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Just want to say thanks to the board and the admins for handling this situation with class and grace.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I thought it was, post in the thread where the incident occured, and email to the offending party.

But I'm just as happy to see it in Press, especially since Natter's back to normal.

"When the world's run by fools it's the duty of intelligence to disobey." Martin Firrell

it had a blatant spoiler for Un-Americans, who have not particularly been participants in this latest argument -- in other words, it was nastily punishing people who weren't even arguing with her.
Theodosia, I'm guessing that we were targeted because the unAmerican thread is where much of this started a few months ago when Fay and myself were the people who were taking her 'broad generalisations and hyperbole too seriously' (her words), which led to her unsubscibing from that thread.

And then to top it off I was unfortunately the one that posted the link in natter the other day about the military guys speaking out against their on-going un-clear roles in post war Iraq which prompted Caroma to respond with the 'who knew how many electricity-sabotaging-rapist-etc' post which brought on this whole debacle.

Personally I have refrained from responding to her posts since the business in unAmerican because she generally showed a patronising and ridiculing tone in her responses. I should have stayed in unAm.
