"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

I hope we all remember each of us who voices an opinion is doing so out of concern for the community as a whole. I think we all want to preserve what's best about our community and just vary on how we think is the One True Way.

wrod.

And bless you for your cookie-sending ways. That's a lovely gesture. Go Team. (And now I'm hungry.)

Fay, I really would like to respond to what you said but I can't.

The truth is I've gone past the point where I can use polite terms and long, nice phrases to say things for this issue. I lost my ability to do that pretty much by Sunday morning. At this point I can only say what I want without very many nicities. Unforunatly I end up sounding like an irrational bitch.

I still have the best interest of the community in mind, it may seem like I'm just out to get Zoe or something like that but I'm not. Really.

You know, Askye, I just composed a great big long answer, but the hell with it. You're right. I'm tired of this. You're tired of this. If you think I have been prioritising Zoe over you, you think it. Repeating myself will just annoy us both and change neither of our viewpoints, and life is too damned short.

I have no doubt that you mean well and care about this community, and I have no doubt that you are sincerely upset. Likewise I do and am. Let's leave it at that and move on, eh?

And now for chocolate...

keep editing to make sure this doesn't come across as nasty. I don't feel mean, just weary and bruised, but I seem to be sounding mean. Sod it.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Phew, catching up on this thread was a roller coaster ride and I'm glad that it has gotten to chilling out, even if there are still a few bruises.

For the record, the word "subhuman" carries specifically racist historical baggage for me (similar to the way Susan sees it), so I was glad to see Allyson clarify her usage.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

msbelle, that's a lovely thing to do, sending the baked goods. I'm not much of a baker, but I do make a really kickass pitcher of sweet iced tea. (It's a Southern thing.) Unfortunately, I'm not sure that would travel so well.

Things got really hot in here yesterday. Regardless of where any of us stands on the notify-warn-suspend-ban-BurnAtTheStake issue, I hope we all remember each of us who voices an opinion is doing so out of concern for the community as a whole. I think we all want to preserve what's best about our community and just vary on how we think is the One True Way.

Cindy speaks for me, here. Also, it bears repeating. Also, I'm doing her laundry right now, so I need someone to speak for me for a while.

I have absolutely no doubt that each of you care deeply about this community, because I've seen it, over and over again in your posts. I really hope that we can move on from this soon without too many hurt feelings.

Also, {{smonster}} because I just like hugging you, and also because I respect your bravery in coming forward when you still felt like a wee little newbie. Also when your various body parts were sore from rugby.

No, Fay, it's not that I think you are priortizing her over me.

Honestly I don't.

I said this to Msbelle-- There are certain separate things I wish I could address but I can't because it ends up coming back around to Zoe when, for me, it's not about Zoe or this current situation.

What I was trying to say Fay, is that no matter what I try or how I try to explain I can't because it ends up coming out wrong and I end up sounding rude or hurtful and that's not what I want.

I don't know how to explain, I'm sorry.

It's all right. You're upset - I do understand that. It's a difficult time. I'm glad I misunderstood you, because it upset me - but we're cool. It's all cool.

Go Team Cookies, say I.

The thing is Fay, I'm upset because I can't be articulate.

Ficht nicht mit Der Raketemensch!

askye, Fay, stop. You're upsetting yourselves, and getting upset that the other's upset. which is both a good reflection on each of you, and counterproductive. Kiss (with tongues) and make up.
