You got fired, and you still hang around here like a big loser. Why can't he?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Sean, I don't think buffistas.org is a generic pop culture board. I think it's ME-focused. I'm not completely happy with the thread proliferation we've already got, but I'm not going to run around trying to get people to shut down existing threads. I do think it's worthwhile to think about when and why we are (potentially) starting new threads, and I think Tim Minear gets grandfathered into our ME focus, since that's how we got to know him. (Yes, I know he did other stuff, but you know what I'm saying, right?)

I don't see how it's fair enough that Tim gets his own thread. How could we possibly have any idea if Wonder Falls will last any longer than any other new show?

I can see the reasoning for a Graduates thread, I can't see why we should have both that and a separate thread for Wonder Falls.

I agree, Jesse. I just don't see how two seperate threads is warranted.

Yay Tim and all that, but two threads seems very excessive to me.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I also like the idea of a single Post-Graduate thread. Several people followed Greenwalt's show "Miracles", and for a while, Firefly and Angel were the de facto threads for that.

How could we possibly have any idea if Wonder Falls will last any longer than any other new show?

I'm not sure why this should factor into it. If it gets canned, the thread gets canned. Poof.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

A community dedicated to discussions of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Firefly with humor, intelligence and obsessiveness.

Currently this is our mission statement.

I guess the question is, do we want to include

1. Actual ME shows only (except those grandfathered in like Due South, Farscape, Smallville)

2. Actual ME shows only, plus Tim's because he's Our Near.

3. Actual ME shows, plus anyone else who has worked for ME in the past.

4. Anything else that takes our fancy.

I am actually happy with taking things on a case by case basis. If Natter becomes overwhelmed because Alias is the new black I think we should have a thread here instead of making people shut up because everyone else is annoyed. it is within our generic description.

I think by making the proposed Due south/Smallville/Stargate etc thread very fandom oriented, we wouldn't suddent;y start talking about the Gilmore Girls and dawson's Creek over there.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Because we don't believe in threads for shows not currently on the air?

(I'm trying to figure out what fake tag to use that I mean that in a light-hearted, jokey fashion.)

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Just FTR, by fair enough I meant that it's a fair argument. I personally (as I think is by now clear) think one thread is enough until something comes along to demonstrate that it's not. I'm just curious to hear arguments in favor of adding two threads instead of one.

I believe in sticking my tongue out at you, missy. But don't give me strep.
