No. You're missing the point. The design of the thing is functional. The plan is not to shoot you. The plan is to get the girl. If there's no girl, then the plan, well, is like the room.

Another social casualty...

I am in favor of both a Wonder Falls/Tim thread and a post-grad thread. I wish we had such a thing was Miracles was on (sob!).

Also, with regard to the last Buffy thread, how about

Buffy 4: I Need a Hug!
(which is what the Grr Argh monster said at the end of "Becoming 2")?

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Another thought that just oozed out of my brain is that we may see an increase in traffic. Word on the street is that some boards will close up shop, and so there will be hordes of pilgrims looking for a new home this Summer. Tightening up threads, and any or all business related to tightening up or adding to the FAQ should probably be done before July.

Do you really think it will increase? I was thinking just the opposite, that a lot of the folks here who only hang out in the Buffy thread will start to drift away. I mean we obviously talk about old episodes over in Previously, but clearly the volume isn't nearly what it is in the Buffy thread, nor is it what it was when the Buffy reruns first started showing of FX.

I do agree that planning where we're going to go from here is a good idea. I'm in favor of a Tim only thread, even if he didn't name a moon after me, as well as an alumni thread.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

People will miss the sense of community offered by other boards.

I get that, but will they come to discuss the show that's gone, or find a community for whatever new show strikes their fancy? Not that I have any idea what that show would be. If it's Tim's show, I can certainly see it happening here, in exactly the same manner that the Firefly thread took off.

Time to plan some hazing rituals for the newbies. Suggestions?

They'll be looking for places where there seems to be a common bond in that this is a community built on Buffy. I sort of anticipate the sort of groundswell that happened to the Beta when the UPN board closed. It was chaos for a wee bit.

Although, if the Beta stays open, I'm thinking that it will attract a lot more folks than Buffistas will. This is a more demanding board.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

They have to read every single post from B'cry 1 and then pass an essay quiz based on the answers they don't find.

Atlantic Canadian here. I think the only people I would discuss closing our thread with are other Atlantic Canadian posters and admin people. It shouldn't be a global discussion.

Okay there's hazing, and then there's torture.
