I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

So, I stopped by the grocery store on the way home from work to re-up the granola bars I like (Bob’s Red Mill) and get some of the refried beans I prefer that Costco doesn’t seem to carry, so I was in amongst the canned beans and came across cans of three bean salad! I didn’t know that was a thing. Not that it shouldn’t be, it may be evident by now that I like canned beans of many types so why not the salad? It just never occurred to me as a possibility. I didn’t get any because for one thing it was pretty expensive and for another had canned beans of two of the varieties at home, but I did study the label to find out what the three beans in question were: green beans, kidney beans, and wax beans. So there you have it. I still think green beans, kidney beans, and garbanzo beans are probably acceptable for personal use.

I did splurge on one can of relatively expensive roasted corn to mix with black beans because that sounds delicious. I hope they are worth the extra $2. Although if they are not I suppose it will be easy to resist their siren call in the future

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

-t, did you ever try the cold corn and green bean salad from the Buffistas' cookbook? It is a favorite recipe in my family.

Ooh I forgot about the buffista cookbook. I should pull that out for some inspiration.

dcp, that certainly sounds like something I should try if I haven’t already! Now, where might I have put the buffista cookbook? I think I have an electronic copy that might be easier to find…

I haven’t found the (possibly mythical) e-copy but I did find an email request for recipe submissions. 20 years ago, y’all! What even is time

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Post-vaccination report. My arm got sore yesterday afternoon, but it wasn't sore enough that I couldn't sleep on it. It is still sore this morning. I noticed feeling a little light-headed this morning, plus some weakness in my arms and legs. The world is a little distant. Temperature is up about 1℉. I've always imagined this is what people feel like after a couple-three drinks.

Do not like.

Just have to wait it out. Might go back to bed.

I support going back to bed. Hopefully that will all pass without too much difficulty. I had no side effects other than the sore arm this time, which was a nice change of pace, but previous years I felt better after only a day or two of ick

I thought the official election related stuff I got in the mail the other day was just informational, but one of those envelopes appears to be my actual ballot, so I should get on that. Maybe lunchtime today. That state bill my employer was worried about has been vetoed but my city seems to be full speed ahead on the California Forever expansion deal so I hope I can get enough to be happy about out of this election to keep my local politics engagement somewhat positive

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

dentist today. just a cleaning and they're nice, but I have found more than expected a time or two. And there's just a reason people don't say "Here's a minor diagnostic, just to cheer you up."Even when I keep it in mind that there's pretty much no "acing it"--I'm not Ralphie with the A++ And the lack of access just makes it all harder, too. (Which I know that I am boring about, but I have seen so many good liberals--mostly not here, but still-- just kind of settle back into "Since you have the ADA...(complacent pause) I have to say it doesn't feel like that. Pretty much ever, actually.

Our wings are not tired.

I've had 2 Phews! this week. What is up with that, Wordle?

I hope the dentist visit is boring, erikaj. I always dread the cleaning, but the last couple times it was no biggee. May it be the same for you.
