Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I like the yolk only to be runny. I do not enjoy gelatinous whites.

Exactly. Yolks I like warm but can handle cold. Whites gotta be cooked. No snot.

I have been kicked in the buttocks by allergies for the last eight days. I'm trying to avoid it turning into a sinus infection but yesterday was a celebration of life for a very dear and very social friend so it was packed and a lot of people to be around. Some of us needs our lungs, Lesley. But she'd have loved the party. It felt like JZ's memorial.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I’m so sorry for your loss, Sheryl.

My brain is too much of a jumble to do a catch-up post so I'll just share one moment of my day. This is my first day off in.. a while.. so I only left my apartment once to collect a package from the front door. While I was down there my across-the-hall neighbor and her small daughter came in. The kid had previously been pretty shy but today she came right up to me and said, "I'm in kindergarten!" and when I asked if she was liking it she said "My hair is pink!" then with a little prodding wished me a good night.

Argh. About an hour ago, I missed the last step of the staircase in our house and went down. I have fucked up my right ankle and foot. I'm going to go right to an ortho tomorrow. It's not super swollen. And I can put weight on it, and nothing is blue or numb, so I'm skipping ER. I didn't hit my head or anything.

But. It does hurt, and if had to guess, I'd guess I may have a hairline fracture or two. Like put it in a boot at the most. It has improved pain wise over two hours, though. Anyway, some general lower extremity ~ma of you can spare some.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Oh, JenP, that's the worst!

Wishing you mildly-tweaked-at-worst-ma!

Now it is time for my periodic PSA: The Stairs Are Trying To Kill Us All. Do not take the gravity for granted, as it will fuck you up.

Hold on to the rail, and never go down the stairs with both hands full. You will fucking bite it.

Punishingly Intricate

Ow, JenP! Hope it’s an easy recovery! Ankles are bullshit!

Our wings are not tired.

Today is a wonderful Monday of celebration because we have three Buffistas born on this day!!! Matt the Bruins fan, Cashmere, and megan walker are sent the most sincere wishes for days filled with joy and delight. May this year bring all your favorite treats.

Sending bubblewrap~ma to JenP. Ankles and stairs are indeed bullshit.

On a separate note - non-displaced fracture on my outside ankle bone, aka, end of fibula, aka, lateral malleolus. Did NOT knock anything else out of place, and nothing else is broken. All told, as lucky as I could have been (other than nothing wrong at all), and I am thankful. Have boot but will not be stomping, because that would hurt. Thank you for the ~ma.

David -- 100% concur with yoir PSA. I don't know what happened last night! I usually hold the freaking rail!

Our wings are not tired.

Phew, a boot is better than a cast for sure. Yes, David's PSA is quite apt.

Thrive to spite them

Happy Triple Buffista Birthday to mega, Matt and Cash !

I have to do onorous tasks today. And I don't want to but they have to be done. Because I have 2 others to do tomorrow.

Saturday we head down to the beach ! I haven't been in two years and I need it so bad. As much as moving to VT then NC and then here has been good for me I wish could live closer because St Teresa (aka The Beach) is the one place I feel like I can just totally relax. It's like my soul finally unclenches and I can just be.

But I don't want to live in N Florida again and M is really tied to SC so I just have to deal with my infrequent visits. I got so spoiled with all the PTO I had at my last job. I think had more PTO than some office jobs.

And then in my oh....so maybe I should have a credit card (when I realized how difficult it is to rent a car with out one) realization I applied for the new Walmart MasterCard. Got approved. And then they were having their Walmart deals and had a king size mattress for 70% off . It had a lot of really good reviews. And we need a new mattress desperately and I'm tired of fighting M, Duchess and Penny for bed space. So we have a king size mattress, bed frame (also on deep 📡 discount) and bed in a bag set coming. The mattress will be here when we are gone so we need to get someone to help M's mom get it in the house. It's one of those mattress in a box things you unroll. The bed in a bag won't be here until Nov 5 and I saw the same thing today listed by another third party seller for much cheaper which makes me suspicious so I'm cancelling that. We will figure something else out.

All of that came to about half of what the mattress cost originally so I guess I did ok. It might end up being a mistake and we might have to return it but hopefully it will work out.
