You know how Tim had super low blood pressure the past 2 weekends? And the oncologist's conclusion was that (since he didn't have any other symptoms like fever or abdominal pain) he just needed to hydrate agressively? And so the new plan was that on Fridays he would get a bag of IV fluids after his radiation. So yesterday he did get a bag o' fluids after radiation.
And this morning his BP is crazy low again. What the FUCK. The fluids were supposed to help! He does check his BP during the week, and it's not crazy low on weekday mornings. The only difference we can see is that he gets more sleep on the weekends, but getting more sleep isn't a known factor for low BP. This is crazy.
Anyway, yesterday was the end of week 4 of treatment, and he has 3 weeks to go. I can't believe he's more than halfway through. He's still eating solid foods, just softer solids. He's also supplementing with Boost Very High Calorie formula. Still going to work 4 days a week after radiation, but taking the whole day off for chemo day.
I'm finished with PT for the time being. I do still have some hip pain, but it's not as bad as it was back in July and August. And the range of motion and strength in that leg have really improved. So I'll just keep doing the PT exercises at home and hopefully they'll keep helping.
Good news re: PT helping some.
Weird news re: weekend blood pressure. Like... what, huh? Glad he's more than halfway done with treatment.
And switching gears entirely... Midnight Burger is so good! I'm so glad you talked about it. I'm binging right now, and I'll be so forlorn when I have to wait in between episodes!

Yesssssssss!!! How far are you? Do you have a favorite character yet?
Quick have him eat a lot of salt? Weird though. Sad the extra fluids didn’t help!

Is there correlation between chemo days and low blood pressure onset days?
Is there correlation between chemo days and low blood pressure onset days?
Chemo day is Tuesday, and he gets 2 bags of IV fluids with the chemo -- 1 bag of fluids, then the chemo, then a second bag of fluids. Since chemo day is Tuesday, that seems fairly far away from Saturdays for there to be a correlation, but I honestly don't know.
If the pattern is consistent, it is worth attention.
Dehydration is not good, and efforts to alleviate it are worthwhile, but that might not be the (only) connection to the low blood pressure.

Just started Season 3. Swear to god my favorite character is whoever is talking! I did kind of love X, as far as guests. Well, and Shel. And how their stories resolved.
It's just such a great mix of funny and sweet and sometimes kind of brilliant... with such fab writing and acting. Bellisimo! I will subscribe to your recommendation blog anytime. And the guest/recurring characters are a good as the main players!

Aaaaaaaaa, season 3 is Clementine! It's so fucking good!!!
Oh my god, I love Shel! I do honestly love all the characters, but Caspar and Effie are my absolute favorites.
Have you listened to the related show, Young Leif? I think if you're listening through Spotify or other services, Young Leif is only accessible to Patreon members, but it is available on YouTube. And Young Leif does tie in to the main story, so it's worth listening to. Plus it's just kind of awesome.
What odds would you give that "manna" is on their list?
Oh, it definitely is.
Dylan's interview went well yesterday...which means he's going through to round three. And maybe there's a round four after that? Which is good news, but these multi-round processes sure drag out the suspense. I'm building up a long list of Things to Do As Soon As Dylan Gets a Job, ranging from "finally do something about that crack in the front bathroom ceiling and shop for a new couch" to "try ALL the new restaurants with good buzz and then I'm taking him to fucking CANLIS" (the fanciest restaurant in the city) because I'll no longer be balancing every tiny splurge with the fear over how our savings are shrinking inexorably and what happens if I lose MY job or we have to have rolling unpaid furloughs because of continuing state budget cuts and federal nonsense in the research funding world.
