I don't recommend this method, but having your spouse go through cancer treatment is an exceptionally effective way to take up all the space in your head for thinking about stuff. I read the news and it all bounces right off me at this point. And I'm honestly kind of glad, because I can recognize that if I had any free brain space to process this hellscape, I'd be on the floor hyperventilating into a paper bag.

Today I left my travel companion and went to an elephant sanctuary and most of it was cool or whatever but the five month old baby elephant annoying the crap out of it’s mom, which was the very last few minutes of the trip, was absolutely the best and funniest part.
