In Otter Lake news, all summer long, posters have been circulating for Bob the cat, who went missing on July 4th. He was found yesterday hanging out in my neighbor's barn. He has lost a bunch of weight and isn't telling what adventures he has been up to all summer. Like most people here, his family leaves today to get back home for the school year, so they are very relieved.

Yay for Bob the cat. Missing pets don't often fare well in my neck of the desert so I am always happy for pets coming back home.
good news about live Bob. Quite a story...
Yay for Bob the cat!
I just finished my PT, and now I have ice on my leg and am wondering who delivers morphine popsicles.
Omar?
Hooray for Bob!
Last week when we left the cabin, we ran out of time and emptied the inflatable pool, but did not wash it or put it away. (And by we I mean not me.) It’s lying on the lawn with a lovely mixture of rain water, tree junk, and general dirt and looking all around pretty gross.
But all is forgiven! Because apparently we accidentally built a five-star bird spa and just watched a huge hawk have a very thorough cleanse. Coolest thing I’ve seen in ages. My dad would have been over the moon.
Still gonna clean and put away the pool. But maybe not today.
Happy Labor Day and happy birthday to the folks I missed!
Plei, I'm so sorry for your mom, but like others said upthread, hospice is pretty great and focuses on quality of life. (My dad got regular visits from a guitar-playing priest, which I think he found very valuable.)
Best of luck to Tim, Teppy. Hope it all goes ok and fast.
I spent most of the last 2 weeks on the road, which was fun but also exhausting. At least TFG hasn't cancelled all federal holidays for us feds.
Last night I went to the Valkyries' game (which they won, yay), and today I'm sorting clothes that no longer fit and trying to get myself to the local consignment shop to see if they'll take a bunch of nice work clothes I won't wear anymore. The dog is slumped on the floor because it's cooler than the dog bed, and I'm sitting right underneath the ceiling fan, which is set on HIGH.
I bought a bunch of clothes from Quince (see above re: clothes no longer fitting) and today I got a Fedex message that some of them are still in India. I hope they actually get delivered given the tariff situation!
