You know, it's funny. We went to war never looking to come back, but it's the real world I couldn't survive.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I can't get it at CVS because MA has a law (and so do 15 other states) that pharmacists can't give vaccines that aren't recommended by the CDC. So I made an appointment to get it from a nurse at my doctors' office.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

It is 100% RFK2 nonsense and has led to a spate of resignations at the CDC. The at risk category is expensive, and they don't, as it were, check.

All kinds of medical-ma to everyone. This is a very time.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

So I said I didn’t have risk of severe illness due to Covid and was told I’m not eligible for the new vaccine. WTF? Do I lie and say I am? I’m a teacher, and Covid is everywhere right now.

I don't know what the actual qualifications for "risk of severe illness" are, but I'd say that anyone who spends most of their day in an institutional setting like a school absolutely falls in that category. Since they don't check, fuck RFK Jr. and his brain worm. Shots for everyone!*

*(It's a sign of the times that "shots for everyone" means vaccinations and not tequila. Sheesh.)

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Happy birthday, meara!

Yesterday I gave up on finding the motivation to assemble and charge my weed trimmer, and instead grabbed some gardening gloves to spent a while pulling crab grass and weeds out of my front shrubbery bed by hand. In addition to day job, rug cleaning, and sweeping floors it made for a productive day.

I also heard from my mom that she started playing around with the beginner's watercolor kit that I got her for Christmas. I had to point out to her that she shouldn't expect results better than a kindergartener's at first because they have the same amount of experience at painting. But it sounds like it's going to be fun for her now that she's overcome inertia and started dabbling.
