Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Happy Birthday, Lisa!

Best wishes to your mom, erika.

Plei, hospice was wonderful with my mom. And with us. All best love to you and her and the family.

I'm sorry the nest is sometimes echoey, David. You're doing a good job of filling it with friends.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

ltc squealed with happiness when I told her the T&T engagement news.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Tim has an appointment this afternoon with the oncology team to go over the results from the second biopsy he had last week, and (I assume) to discuss the treatment plan. Fingers crossed for a really tiny area that the radiation can just totally obliterate!

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

(passes good cancer vibes to Tim, because Mom doesn't have it again, this year.) We didn't really think she would, but once someone has, it's hard for that thought to be completely gone.

Our wings are not tired.

Good to hear your mom's news, erikaj.

Vibing for Tim.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Glad to hear it, erika

Fingers crossed for Tim

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Good Tim Vibes!

The sun is out and I'm in JZ's window seat soaking up a sunbeam like a cat.

I have a lot of housework to do but I'm feeling about as motivated as a cat in a sunbeam.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

So, Tim has to have radiation and chemo. Radiation is 5 days a week for 7 weeks, and chemo is once a week for 7 weeks.

It’s not a huge dose of chemo, so side effects shouldn’t be too bad (the oncologist—since that’s a healthcare provider that Tim has now—said “You won’t lose that lovely hair!”)

Radiation side effects could suck mightily, since it will be directed at the base of his tongue (and more or less all of the inside of his mouth). But the radiation should eradicate the cancer, which is the goal. The radiation guy (since that’s also a healthcare provider that Tim has now) said that this is curative, not remission. So that part is of course excellent.

But Jesus Christ, this is a lot.

That is a lot. Seven weeks of a whole lot and I'm sure it's not all just magically back to normal at the end of that, although I hope it is as much that was as it can be. I'm very pleased that Tim has some continuity in his healthcare, that has got to make things easier! And curative sounds great, I am in favor

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

...curative, not remission.

Excellent indeed.
