I’m sorry, PMM. That’s a hard decision. For what it’s worth, hospice was incredibly kind to my mom, and made her final weeks as comfortable as possible.
It was honestly such a relief when my Dad started getting hospice care. We didn’t have to worry about getting him out of the apartment for medical appointments and he could stop taking medicine other than ones that eased pain or his Parkinson’s symptoms. Oh and Medicare covered hospice so they could cut back on home health visits which Medicare does not cover! He was under hospice care at for about 3 months before he passed and it was a much more peaceful time than the past few years of his life had been in many ways.
~ma to your mom, Erika.
And wishing comfort and peace to yours, PMM. That's a tough situation. For what it's worth, when my cousin passed under hospice care a few years ago it did feel like a gift that it happened in comfortable surroundings with family gathered around.
Peace for your family, Plei. Thanks for the good wishes, everyone.
Plei, I’m so sorry. Love to you and yours.
PMM, sending you love and support.
erika, vibing for good news regarding your mom.
Plei, love to you and your family.
erika, good vibes for your mom.
She got back and went to buy groceries. (She says she's fine, which I hope is true, but she always says that, anyway. Sometimes it sucks that she's still got to do my share--that I can't say "That's okay...let me handle it this week." and have that be a thing.) I mean, I guess we could do deliveries if we had to, or were super-into workers' rights violations, but I wasn't just talking about these groceries, but the whole standing-on-even-metaphorical feet thing.
~ma to erika's mom.
And all my love and good wishes to Plei and family.
