I had a very Oakland day: bike ride in Chabot Park, facial at Piedmont Springs, lunch at Cato's, saunter on Piedmont Avenue, then an ice cream at the resurrected Loard's on MacArthur. (Black raspberry, the summer flavor of my youth in New England.)
Now I have napped and I need to do laundry because I'm traveling again this week for work. Ugh. Adulting is hard.
I'm in Fort Lauderdale! In Florida for a week with the plan of helping with all the paperwork and business of my brother's passing, and helping my sister with whatever. Brendon drove over to pick me up from the airport with the intention of just dropping me at my sister's and then driving the couple hours back home. I told him I was going home with him for a few days and heading back over there Tuesday. Can't do anything on the weekend anyway. Up north I take care of people, over on the west coast I take care of people, on this side I'm taken care of so that is the plan for 3 days!
Hanging out while he shoots pool with the guys, finishing up my book before book club Monday. Guys were happily surprised that I showed up with him. Going home is like a mini vaca.
During my whirlwind visit to NY I was prepping for SIL's visit and decided to move the bed away from the slanted dormer section since she is tall. Managed to break the bed frame. So I had to order another one and explain to son the mechanics of out with the old and in with the new in close quarters. They'll figure it out.
Anyone use ginger candy for nausea and have a recommendation? I really, really, really do not want to vomit because of the Zepbound.
Trader Joes also has candied ginger that works for nausea.
Also Reed's Extra Ginger ginger beer (non-alcoholic) has so much ginger in it, it will punch your nausea in the face.
Trader Joe’s ginger chews were enough to knock my COVID meds metallic taste side effect out. They’d probably be at least somewhat helpful for nausea.
It’s gorgeous in Michigan this weekend so yesterday I had an extended ramble at a local park. Today my sister and I are going to hang out with her son’s family at a campground by Lake Huron. My nephew would love it if we joined them camping more, because we are both delightful, and also to help keep my nephews from poking bears and rolling in poison ivy. But my love for my grandnephews is tempered by my need for a proper bed at night. After I buy a house/condo, I might start exploring used campers, but that’s a few years off.
When I started the GLP-1 meds they sent an Rx for nausea, but I haven't had to use it. If I don't eat in the late evening, or too large portions I haven't had any issues. And really if I ate late at night or too much I always had issues. In life I have found nausea is helped by inhalation of the herbal substances.
Slept in my own bed last night for 8-1/2 hours for a sleep score of 76, which is a massive improvement over the last month or so. Project renew and refresh in progress.
Healthy~boob~ma for your mom headed your way, erikaj.
Timelies all!
Another weekend with Mr. S done. As usual, he spent a lot of time playing Fortnight on his Switch. We know we need to set time limits on it, but it's hard to get him to do what he doesn't want to do. sigh...
Thanks, Laura. Everybody should know that the texture is different and there's a pin or something in there from before, so I don't even get the point of doing standard mammo on that side, anyway.
They should just always do something else automatically--ultrasound like last year, maybe.
But it's an MRI this time. I think they have too much faith in their noisy toys, not that I'm trying to say she should put plain yogurt on them to shrink everything or anything like that.
Testing~ma for your mom, erikaj.
