Fred: It's the pictures in my mind that are getting me. It's like being stuck in a really bad movie with those Clockwork Orange clampy things on my eyeballs. Wesley: Why imagine? Reality's disturbing enough.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

"I watched several disappointing sunsets from the private beach of my ancestral summer home" is a very diamond-shoes thing to be bummed about

I'd be bummed too.

Greek yogurt, honey, berries, cinnamon and I'm good. It's pretty much dessert but healthier.

Biang Biang noodles staredown! -t vs. hinky ordering site!

I had to get up early, shower and Uber downtown for an 8am skincare appointment. (I took somebody else's cancellation to get in earlier.)

It hurt and now I'm tuckered out. However, it's a glorious sunny day and those have been in short supply this summer.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Let there be rejoicing throughout the land, my order is confirmed!

I guess they only accept orders when they are open. Which I can see the sense of. I feel pretty certain I'll remember that next time.

Now I just have to get through the rest of this work day so I can go pick it up...

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Intrigued by the Chobani Less Sugar option.

Me too. I'm trying to flip my "prince-pauper-king" eating habits to at least be "prince-king-pauper" and yogurt for dinner is really one of the easiest ways for me to do that. Plain Greek generally works for my purposes but those Less Sugar options would be good for when I make the melatonin special I've been experimenting with (pistachios and goji berries mixed in).

Greek yogurt, honey, berries, cinnamon and I'm good. It's pretty much dessert but healthier.

Honestly, if the yogurt has live cultures, that combo is as healthy as you can get. Daily berries and fermented foods are key. Plus, it incorporates one of my longstanding healthy eating rules: If it makes sense to add cinnamon, add cinnamon.

Jess, sorry about the vacation bummer-ness. I would be crushed about the stars myself. I've gone far too long without a national parks road trip and that is probably what I miss most.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I did not care for the vanilla cinnamon low-sugar one, for what that’s worth. It seems like a good combination, but it was kind of odd.

I have never heard of that before AND YET, I understood.

Thrive to spite them

Walmart does not carry Choboni Less Sugar. I'll have to get it at Publix I guess .

I'm not a big yogurt fan so I liked the Ratio Strawberry Cheesecake because it tasted more like a dessert type thing than yogurt. But I think I will experiment with yogurt.

The nice thing about working at a grocery store is I have access to food and can change my lunch plans. I have been eating Birds eye Southwest Power Blend (or whatever it is called), chicken, guac and cheese. The power blend is 15 grams of protein and 13 grams of fiber. But I've been over doing the fiber so I wanted to try and eat less. I'm not near my goal but more than I have been eating. But today I got a cilantro rice microwave packet , Bush's Sidekicks fiesta pinto beans and mixed that with the chicken, guac and cheese. So similar to what I've been having but different enough. It was tasty and I had leftovers so I put that although and it's in the fridge for tomorrow.

I'm off Monday and Tuesday so I'm going to take a me time to figure out things to make for lunch , breakfast and snacks and try to get that all done.

E's birthday was today. My nephew is 16! And he and his parents just got back from a trip to Vancouver. I have to send his birthday present. I got him a dragon...well a wyrm Dungeon and dragon figure. I hope he likes it. He starts his jr year Monday, already has his driver's license and will be using my brother's car most days (my brother mostly drives a work truck ). He has block style classes so he has 4 classes at a time. He is taking a personal finance class, 2 AP classes (I forget which ones) and a dual enrollment history class. He wants to be an archeologist.

Jess I'm sorry your trip was so stressful and not what you were looking forward to. That sucks.

Happy, Happy Birthday, Debt! Hope today is lovely and the rest of the year brings much joy.

Man, I wish they'd offered some practical classes like Personal Finance back in my day. Would have been SO useful. Can't believe your nephew is already 16, askye. Wow.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Happy birthday, Debet!

I agree that personal finance classes would be a great addition to the high school curriculum.

The status is NOT quo.

I don't think it's very Diamond Shoes to be like "I looked forward to family vacation in a really lovely place, and then stressful shit kept happening and vacation was not as restful and restorative as I hoped it would be." That sucks to have a trip you were looking forward to go all pear-shaped.
Hard agree!

I agree that personal finance classes would be a great addition to the high school curriculum.
California is on it.

Happy Birthday, Debet!

I'm headed to a family wedding today which involves a full Catholic mass, and even my very Catholic aunt and uncle (who are staying at Mom's with me) are joking about ways we could skip the ceremony and just go to the reception. I will not burst into flames. I will not burst into flames. I will not burst into flames.
