The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

topic hopping spree

That's a good phrase for it. Thanks.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Had my appointment yesterday with my PCP. Good news- my triglycerides are way down, and are now in the normal range.(Good cholesterol is still bit low) Yay for statins!

Tomorrow we are flying to Seattle for WorldCon. Should be fun, and nice to get away from the temperatures in the 90s predicted here for the rest of the week.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Yeah, our heatwave in Seattle is supposed to break tonight. I had to dip out of work early because my computer wasn't having it with the temperature.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Have fun storming the Worldcon!

PMM, that sounds worse than when my phone overheats and shuts itself off. I feel like I decide it’s too hot to keep working before my laptop does.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I kind of forgot that I'm a delicate flower when it comes to side effects from drugs, and Zepbound is sadly no exception. I did my first shot Sunday night, and Monday night and last night I had insomnia, plus last night I had bonus reflux in the middle of the night. These are apparently typical side effects, and it's only been a couple of days, so my guess is they'll subside. But man, insomnia is a bitch.

Our wings are not tired.

I've found I have to stop eating at 7 PM if I expect to sleep. I've taken Omeprazole forever for the reflux, but I might not need it anymore since I never eat in the evening.

Yeah definitely find I can’t eat close to bedtime because of possible reflux. But then again, before I started the drugs I had reflux all the time so…still better. Insomnia didn’t hit me though—more fatigue (which was likely also due in part to not getting enough calories at times!)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Matilda has been delivered to her college!

EM and Emmett came with, and, as with move-in- days at every college everywhere, it was chaotic and yet somehow organized.

After arrival we unloaded Matilda's stuff into two large bins and then Matilda went to check in and get her ID and wi-fi access and keycard, EM went to the school store to buy sweatshirts and Emmett and I drove the car home and lingered over second coffee before returning.

Because we knew it would be at least an hour and probably two before the movers would bring Matilda's bins to her room.

Met with Matilda back at her dorm and went up to the 7th floor (excellent view) and were first in her room. Emmett did the heavy work of lofting both beds (just raising them to the top slot of their adjustable frames for maximum storage underneath), and moving the drawers under the new bed space, and rotating the desks to the wall.

Then Matilda's roommate, Lillibeth, arrived with her mother, and we chatted with them until the bins showed up, while Matilda was excited and antsy because she had a whole strategy about unpacking which involved de-gassing her mattress topper and plugging in all her power strips before everything else.

Eventually Matilda's bins arrived and all was unloaded, and she ran around fixing everything just so. EM and Emmett took off and I waited until the big suitcase was unpacked so I could drag that home with various broken down boxes and bags.

And I am here to report that Matilda was very excited and happy and the whole dorm was buzzing with excited and happy teenagers.
