the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

I'm currently sitting in the Warner Theatre about to see a live recording of the Stuff You Should Know podcast, which is one of the very first ones I started listening to. I find the hosts goofily soothing.

Tim loves Chuck and Josh SO much! He's going to be jealous!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Guilty! Woo-hoo!

In other good news, my mom is back home. Hopefully one of the doctors she'll be seeing in the next few weeks can figure out what's going on.

On the book thread - I once encouraged a friend to read "The Game of Kings" and she hated it. Compared Lymond unfavorably to Wesley Crusher. Needless to say, I don't do that any more.

Always Anti-fascist!

I used to rec "A Year On The Killing Streets", like, always. But everybody doesn't think that story about Jay Landsman and the slow leak is funny--to say nothing of the one with the pogo stick.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Aims, what are specials? Need to figure out if I need to add specials to my day...

Specials is Unified Arts - art, PE, music, Spanish, and science. All things everyone should have every day!

6 more days, y'all, AND THEN I AM FREE!! And for the first time in 10 years, I am not working this summer. I'm happy to say it's because I have travel and family stuff basically the entire month of July, but I'm trying not to freak out about money. Even though I get paid throughout the summer (I'm on the paycheck spread) (heh) and I do just fine during the school year.

And also grad school. I have classes on campus this summer. But there will be copious amounts of pool lounging.

And it's nice having an adult daughter who makes things like cheesy-bacon mashed potatoes.

Punishingly Intricate

You raised that child right, Aims!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I love that for you, Aims!

And I love all those “guilty”s

And if anyone I am handing books to at the beach doesn’t take one or leaves it on the sand for someone else or whatever that is A-OK!

I judge books by their covers all the time. Sometimes I talk myself out of it, sometimes I feel kinda bad about it but still go with the judgment and sometimes I just figure there are already too many books I’m trying to read, not liking this cover is a good enough reason to not try this one. I have occasionally read books because I liked the cover and then didn’t like the book that much but not to deep and lasting regret or anything.

Good man! It was delightful, I am happy to report.

I'm glad I asked -- those are 100% things I need in my day!

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

I judge books by their covers all the time.

I think I started the Chanur series just because of the Michael Whelan covers.
