Also, I guess that guy has a follow up in WaPo but I let that subscription lapse. I was curious if he was one of the people that recently quit and it looks like not; he got promoted to replace on of them it seems

From my onerous to-do list, I have:
Made 8 PT appointments for my defiant bad hip
Made a mammogram appointment
Made a colonoscopy appointment
Followed up with PCP about Zepbound
My PCP sent over the Rx for Zepbound, so now I need to wrangle that.

From my onerous to-do list, I have:
Dang! That's a lot of onerosity.
Maintaining this crumbling human shell is a pain in the ass.
Truth. Good job doing the things!
Maintaining this crumbling human shell is a pain in the assJust about literally!
Random observation - on my walk to the bus stop this morning I saw a cat chasing a squirrel up a tree, which was pretty exciting. It later occurred to me that I think that's the first time I've seen a squirrel downtown. I have always put the lack of squirrels down to the area being, in its natural state, more of a marsh than a forest or woods, just not that many trees, so not really squirrel habitat. I wonder what has changed, if it's just that more trees have been planted and gotten mature enough to attract squirrels or something else...
"So the doctor said that I had to have part of my lower intestine removed." "Semi-colon."
A good friend had that exact procedure and I gave him a button for the Semi-Colon Appreciation Society. He loved it.
DH has some actual good news today in his basketball program. He has been having a tough time with ICE issues. The parents won't let the kids come to practice for fear they will get picked up. Kids worry that when they get home the parents won't be there. A large percentage of his team is Haitian here under TPS, which is ending. Not that it really matters since they will pick them up regardless of status. It is terrifying, and he feels helpless and hopeless much of the time.
So, it was extra nice to hear good news from him today. School starts Monday, so there have been new students and parents in and out of the school. One of the fathers came with his son and approached Brendon. He told him he had heard all kinds of wonderful things about his program and looked forward to his son moving to Northeast. He said he just wanted him to know he appreciated him, and if there is anything he needs from the city of Oakland Park, to let him know, and gave him his card. He told him to please send his kid to open workouts at 5, and he looked forward to working with him, and pocketed the card. He looks at the card later, and it is the Mayor of the city! First, he was already psyched that the guy complimented his program, then the bonus of him actually meaning he was there to help.
Oh Laura that is really cool!!
Steph I'm glad Tim got a really good report, even if it wasn't the cancer is gone.. hopefully it will die quickly with treatment.
-t Dungeon Crawler Carl will still be there when you get to it. I am in continual awe of Jeff Hays as a voice artist. It is easy to forget he is on person doing voices of all the characters. I saw he has narrated Dracula and I have to listen to that at some point.
Occasionally some of the characters do sound very similar but mostly I can't believe he can go from a kind of deep gruff voice to a higher pitched softer feminine voice.
There is a Webtoon of DCC and a graphic novel (I think) coming out at some point that will be new stories I think of other characters...things they are doing "off screen" so to speak (but I may be wrong). Oh and a table top RPG.
Nifty, Laura!
Some algorithm has been serving me up ads with videos for (I think) the audiobooks, and every time I see them I think "oh, askye said that was good" and now I will maybe remember this Jeff Hays tidbit. A good narrator makes such a difference! I'll get around to it eventually
