Overwhelming? How much more than whelming would that be exactly?

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

...I’ve got a cold and am feeling crappy so Bob went without me and I’m feeling sorry for myself.

lisah, if it helps, I say you made the right decision.

One of my online prostate cancer support groups held a national meetup this weekend, at a retreat facility about thirty minutes drive away. I didn't sign up for the full three days, but I did go make a short visit on Saturday. Spent a couple hours outdoors talking and laughing and watching a group play a cornhole tournament. Shook a lot of hands. Actually got a little sunburn, to my surprise.

Now half a dozen of them report they have tested positive for Covid. Sigh. It will be another few days before I know whether I caught it too.

Punishingly Intricate

I also would have been miserable sitting in the sun for hours.

That soup sounds delicious, Laura!!! Right up my alley.

Hope you dodged the virus, dcp, and that everyone who got it has mild cases

Our wings are not tired.

Oh yuck, dcp! Socialization should not have that price. I hope you remain negative.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

It will happen. You'll like my sister, Mona; she's one of us! And of course, Skinner is very sociable.

I'll be delighted to meet Mona! And it should go without saying that meeting Skinner will be extra delightful!

Now half a dozen of them report they have tested positive for Covid. Sigh. It will be another few days before I know whether I caught it too.

Hopefully since you were there for a relatively short amount of time, and outdoors, you managed to dodge the virus. Fingers crossed!

We have nice weather and it's a slow-ish work day, so I am aiming for hammock-and-book time later on today.

I hope it flew right past you, dcp. And the gathering does sound lovely.

I also would have been miserable sitting in the sun for hours.

Yeah, that's not something I generally do when I'm feeling awesome, so... definitely not while sick. (I mean, I like sunshine, don't get me wrong, but in the stands, there's often little respite but ducking inside, and if it's super hot and with my pale-ass skin...)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Hope it misses you, dcp!

Always sucks to miss out on something fun because you feel bad, lisah. Compound interest sort of thing. Woo Wordle in 2, though!

I realized at 8 exactly that I should have been starting work and had yet to get out of bed, so that's how my day is going. No reason for it, just time blindness and general disinclination to do anything at all ever (and trouble getting to sleep last night but that is very usual)

I got up and started work. But I have a terrible muscle ache in my neck/back so am laying with a heating pad hoping it’ll go away and cursing that I can’t find my stupid rice-filled microwaveable thing. It’s been a good 45 min and it still hurts so I’m frustrated

Virtual warm neck rubs, meara.

Woo Wordle in 2, though!

Same. Love when that happens.

Skinner is very sociable.

Skinner is a sweetie. Give him some scritches from me!
