Laura - A leash will certainly be a help for controlling Scully. My sister flew home with one of my mom's cats and did not realize what she was getting into. Hugger was not happy. Neither was Charlotte, for that matter.
Natter 78: I might need to watch some Buffy for inspiration
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Last time I flew with a cat was, jeez, 40 years ago? Can that be right? Anyway, kitty valium was a very good thing, as I recall.
It is going to be an experiment, so I hope it works out. I appreciate the advice. I'm going to stop at the pet store on the way home tonight and see if there is a better harness/leash option than the one I have.
Each previous trip, and she has had a lot of them, she was always silent in the carrier until it got dark outside, then she would cry. That was when I changed to 3 days so we could get into hotels before it got dark. It will be so much easier if flying works for her.
Laura, if you have time on your trip and it's convenient for a pit stop in Cincinnati, I can almost certainly guarantee I'll be around. But I also understand road trip schedules, so if it doesn't work that's cool, too.
I've used kitty valium in the past, but I think it made it harder for the cat to acclimate when we got to the new place. Mayabe feeling woozy made her more skittish? Since that 1 time I flew with a cat, way pre-9/11, I just driven and said "there, there" a lot.
Good luck Laura!
Plumber fixed one thing and sadly confirmed the other issue (water hammer) is a loose pipe somewhere and would require sawing into walls and maybe not finding it. So I will live with the knocking, since he reassured me it shouldn’t mean that it’ll bust open or anything.
Steph, Cincinnati is about an hour south of Enon, so if not on the way through, maybe while we are staying with the cousins. Up in the air for sure, but if we can make it happen, I'd love to see you.
Ooh, I am now looking forward to pictures from a Laura and Steph Cincy F2F!
I hope we can make it happen. I should be in Ohio on the 24th. I'll have Skinner with me, so maybe a F2F at a dog park.
I'm very worried about this weekend. There should be massive protests across the nation for so many reasons, but this also plays right into the orange blight's hand as he proves that the cities are out of control, and he must wield his mighty military to quell the lawlessness.
I continue to be torn between hitting the streets or going offline. Frankly, I am not going to hit the streets when it is in the 90s with added high humidity because I'm a fragile lightweight. It is a struggle to continue to read my newsletters, or even worse, watch the news. I'm so grateful for those who are protesting this weekend and worry so for their safety.
What can the troops be thinking? They can't speak on record, but this can't be what they signed up for.
Okay, more coffee and less rage.
