I couldn't believe it the first twenty times you told us, but it's starting to sink in now.

... anyone else following the news in LA? I am worried.

Feeling powderkeg-ish

Things are pretty fucking bad.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

If they try to federalize the nat'l guard everywhere before next Saturday we'll really be in it.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Thing is, these protests are SMALL. It's like a couple hundred people maybe, at the Home Depot?

There were more yesterday at the ICE building in DT. But still not that many. This isn't an insurrection, and even LAPD isn't doing more than keeping people away from the ICE teams.

But TFG wants more, so he's calling up the CA National Guard, so he can START something.

I hate this country right now. Ugh.

Also hate: I had one migraine in almost three months…and then today, last Saturday, and the Saturday before, had to take meds and waste most of the day trying to feel better. wtf body. Do not appreciate.

I suspect he knows there are big protests coming and he wants to scare people away from them.

I was supposed to meet a friend this morning to go take photos but it’s so hot and sunny we decided to cancel. Then I tried to go walk over to cheer my friends on playing soccer, but I’d written down the wrong location—they were across town. Oops.

Well, bummer, meara. I hope the rest of the day turns right way up, even if it's just, like, reading a good book with doggo on your lap.

We went out for breakfast at new place where the woman serving us totally turned around what was king of a meh welcome from the front staff. I mean, I don't ask a lot, but they were kinda... not interested, or something? It was weird. Maybe just overwhelmed. Anyway, we sat at the bar to eat, and she was just super great. Nice google review coming up, Demitra. Food was good, too.

Rainy day. Did some job application work, and now I'm going to read some.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I've been enjoying ScolaFest 2025.

Last night we headed out to the Royal Cuckoo Organ Lounge (way out in Bernal Heights), where we saw Steve Lucky (on organ) and Carmen Getit (guitar) play an eclectic mix of groovy jazz ("One Mint Julep," "Watermelon Man" et al.).

On Friday we went over to see megan walker for a game night and socializing, where we played Ticket to Ride - San Francisco. I came in second!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Game night with Scola and Sylvie! I’m so envious.
