Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I really thought he was dead, so I cried a little when I saw the picture of him meeting with his Senator.
Samezies. He looks absolutely shattered, but he's alive.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Such a relief to see that picture!

We get today as a holiday, which is nice but weird. I am enjoying just staying in bed with the cat on my legs very much.

Our wings are not tired.

I am almost surprised that Abrego Garcia is alive and was permitted to meet with his Senator, so that's another good sign.

It must be an incredible relief for his family to see him alive, and even more relief for him to know that people are fighting for his rights here. No notion how it will play out, but more hope than previously.

Several days into being sick, and DH is sicker. OMG, he is a terrible patient. He really is sick. Very high fevers, serious lung ick. He is taking all the drugs, but he has zero patience or acceptance that it isn't a quick fix. Being as hyperactive as he is the inability to do much beyond sitting in a chair is making him crazy. (and me)

I hope he feels better soon!

I used to get this day off but now we get a floating holiday instead. Which is probably better but it was kinda fun in the past. That said half my colleagues are in countries where it IS a holiday, and a couple other people took it off, so I’m crossing my fingers for a slow day.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I went to the bank, TJs, and CVS. Now I'm doing laundry and settling in to do some work. Though what I really want is a nap, because I am so full of antihistamines that if Dracula bit me, he'd immediately fall asleep. Everything is blooming outside and my sinuses are so very unhappy about that.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I have lazed around this morning, posting to my A's board, savoring their sweep of the White Sox and some encouraging minor league performances.

I've got Pilates at noon, but I have to keep my blood pressure down post surgery so I won't be able to do the full workout but I'm sure I'll be "scooping" my abs plenty.

My body has been much less happy with the uptick on the Ozempic meds, though I'm still at a quite low 0.5 (up from 0.25). I'm hoping my body adapts more because the first dosage was almost without side effects and this is a pretty steady queasy.

David note that the expected progression is up a dose each month but if the prior dose is still working for you there’s no real need to increase the dose! Talk to your doctor if you’re having a lot of nausea and they can likely give you something for it but you can also NOT increase the dose as fast as possible. Check with insurance too, but…if it’s still helping, don’t rush to increase, especially if you’re getting bad side effects.

That's what I hoped to hear! I lost 9 lbs in two weeks on the lowest dose. It doesn't need to go faster than that!

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Hec, for what it's worth, when I bumped up to 0.5 my weight plateaued. I've been gaining and losing the same 3lbs. I go up to 1.0 in two weeks and I'm curious to see what'll happen.
