We’re going to hear next Tuesday how my employer plans to respond to all the everything. We’ve already had hiring and traveling freezes. I think the next step is stopping contributions to our retirement funds and then layoffs. No idea where my department will land. I wish I still had a Xanax prescription.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Documentation folks, as a former software QA manager I hear you, and it's giving me unpleasant flashbacks.
"What do you mean, we actually have to run the entire test suite on this last-minute emergency fix before it goes into the release? That'll take hours!"
"Great. You can spend those hours documenting what the new fix does."
"But that's the docs team's job!"
"Have the docs team even seen the new code?"
"Well, no ...."

"Oh, sweetie, you're barely a 2--how do you think you rate a 3, let alone a 5?"
Eight's old enough to understand and appreciate sarcasm, right? All right, I'm sorry, wrong approach. But it felt good for a minute.
I'm sorry about the job woes and misunderstandings and refusals to get things right.
In other news, the dental appointment was a big nothing. And I'll happily take it.
Oh! Jesse, I meant to say earlier that today for lunch I heated up the chicken/tomato/corn/bean conglomeration over rice, and it's very tasty heated up. I threw a little grated cheese on top, too, because cheese is always good.
Beverly, I did fantasize about telling him that boys that rate girls like that are themselves zeroes.

It's Friday. Let's put an end to it.
I have Pilates at noon today, but the rest of my day will mostly be tending to house and chores as Matilda is coming back in just 9 days.
Also, I'll be having a guest in the garden apartment and it needs a cleanup (and my chambermaid is still in Kyoto).
Very grey and foggy this morning in SF, but I don't mind while quaffing my coffee.
I have an electrician here today putting in a new outlet so I can convert from a gas range to a new electric one. The amount of cursing that’s coming from the kitchen as he peels back the layers of random MacGyvering and otherwise questionable decision-making that went into the original set up is really something.
But! The new oven is fancy and beautiful and has convection. And a fan setting so we can cook like Mary Berry!
that happened to me enough, sj, that the last one I had was just a big piece of molded plastic.
{{sj}} That does not sound pleasant at all
New range! Fancy oven! How exciting!
