Thrive to spite them

I did something today I haven't done in a long time...I went to the used bookstore. I bought some books. Including Airport by Arthur Hailey that was on the $1 cart because it was one of those books always floating around the beach when I was growing up and I never read it but was always curious.

Then I paid for my library fines and vowed to stick with digital media from the library. It's sad going to the library there are no displays allowed at all. Only new releases and anything about the county. (This was done so they could ban LGBT displays but not get sued for discrimination).

And M put together the strawberry scratching house for the cats I got at Aldi and Duchess immediately took it over.

I'm hoping that the bakery losing the order for Mom's birthday cake and having to scramble to make it before close of business today

Im at a weekend getaway for a friend’s birthday, and another friend picked up a cake. It was supposed to say happy birthday, we love you. Instead it said “happy birthday, congrats on getting old”

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Instead it said “happy birthday, congrats on getting old”

I want this for my next birthday cake.

If I have cake to put in the fridge at the end of the day I'll be grateful. We just had another round of tornado warnings from the storms that blew through after my last post, so I'm crossing my fingers that the bakers stayed at work today.

We all agreed that since she just finished chemo, technically it is better than NOT getting old…but…

I'm back from the protest in DT Oakland, it was pretty big! Plenty of middle-aged white folks with creative signs, but at least the crowd swung younger than the Tesla protests.

I do think that if this nationwide day of protests had taken place LAST week, the turnout would have been much less. But the way everyone now has to worry about their retirement and so forth has people PISSED OFF...

Always Anti-fascist!

yeah, most people kind of don't have enough already--we really couldn't make it with less. also, being told to hang tough by dudes with gold toilets makes me want to break shit. just on general principles.
