Natter 78: I might need to watch some Buffy for inspiration
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place.
Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I already have a crush on her: She's 6'1, genderqueer, bawdy humor and also touched my butt a lot (consensually - as she made adjustments to my positioning and was feeling which muscle groups I was activating and which ones I was isolating properly).
She is gonna snap you like a twig, baby. Hang on to your butt.
I didn’t look at my 401(k) once during the previous administration.
I am steadfastly ignoring my retirement accounts. I'm assuming the Dow will course correct, though maybe not in the immediate short term. It's not like I'm retiring for another 12-13 years at the least, barring some crazy unforseen windfall. Tim is 5 years older than me, and with his RA, he may end up retiring within 5 years, but even that will be post-Trump and, I assume, into a more stable market.
Regrets. I told DH at the beginning of the year that I wanted to pull everything out of the stock market before he took office. I didn't because I hoped it would just be volatile, but that in the long term it would recover. I should have gone with my first instinct.
This. But I had moved about 10% to cash in February 2020 with COVID on the horizon (which was a good thing because there was a huge dip in March) but I didn't moved it back so that bit missed out on the huge gains under Biden. So I hesitated about moving any more. Now I'm wondering what I should do with that chunk, i.e., is this a dip or is this a chasm? But, honestly, I have become so pessimistic about the future I'm not sure it matters.
I'm not looking too hard at my stocks right now. Just have to presume the Dow will bounce back to its previous level at some point.
I do think that, in general, it's best not to look.
At this point my hope is that Wall Street, which seems to be waking up to what they have wrought, somehow pressures him to give up the tariffs. Or, you know, the other thing.
From your brain to the Universe's ears. I don't plan to retire for at least a decade (er, once I start working again, please! But you know what I mean). DH either.
I am on the train to the crossword tournament! Delayed for two hours, but dinner isn't until 8p, so no worries. And with Buffistas, yay!
I retired last year but I was hoping Brendon could join me at some point.
My only hope right now is that his super rich backers will smack him with a 2x4 to knock some sense into him.
I’m more worried than ever that he is going to nuke Iran too to “make history” in his mind as macho.
Almost to CT and Buffista time. That helps my anxiety level a lot.
Good luck to the crosswordistas this weekend! I wish I could have joined you but I am in Boston taking Dylan to an admitted students weekend at Emerson. We just walked in a 5 mile circuit from the Commons to the harbor and back around to the Make Way For Ducklings statue in the Public Garden.

I mean, how could you not?

"Rae is a queer, burlesque-performing, Pilates glamazon whose hairstyle is known to change a little too often. Her life revolved around shoe design and costuming until she suddenly collapsed, having dislocated her hips, SI, sacrum, tailbone, and lumbar spine all at once. That was when she learned she was hypermobile, just shy of an Ehlers Danlos diagnosis. After years of living with pain so severe she could barely walk, she found that Pilates was the key to healing her body and getting her life back."

Aww! I almost went to Emerson!! (BU gave me more money.)

I thought for a second you were talking about what it would take for B to retire...
Yay for crosswordistas! Please post about it whenever it is convenient to do so!

You left out this part: "One session is all it takes to see why her clients gave her the nickname 'The Pilates Domme' ”. She is totally going to snap you like a twig. Or bend you in half. (Or both; I don't know a lot about pilates.)
