I'm so tired of having AI added to things or being told to figure out how to add it to something.

We don’t use Salesforce. We do use Slack, which was bought by Salesforce a while back. Slack continues to be good, and Salesforce continues to call me on my home phone number asking why we won’t try that software, too. We briefly looked at it as we explored CRMs, but went with one that is higher ed -specific. Reading upthread I'm feeling ok about that.
The Ask Sam AI thingje we use when we have to look something up (usually for a customer) has trouble with certain word and concepts.
I can't get an answer to "so we carry chicken stock" because it will spew nonsense about wal mart stocks. Or if you ask about ..i can't remember what ...it will just tell you how to do 2 factor authentication when you ask about a step pedometer.
Much of the AI influence in our industry is from Dragon dictation. Instead of the provider actually dictating the note, the software "listens" to the office visit and generates the note automatically. Listening for key words like blood pressure or diabetes the note suddenly includes paragraphs that indicate these things were discussed with the patient. Of course, tossing in the language the billing department needs for max charges. AI is also used for diagnostics and other matters but note generation is where we see it most.
I'm just disappointed that I didn't get my very own Rosey the Robot like the Jetson's future predictors promised. It isn't right that in 2025 I still have to make my own bed and serve my own coffee. What is up with that? Technology is slacking, IMO.
You maybe shouldn't be so gung-ho about AI transcription if you can't somehow stop Zoom from sending the full transcript to EVERYONE in the review meeting, even if some people were required to leave so their own performance could be discussed.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
We hit an unfun parenting milestone yesterday - Dylan hit another car while driving in a parking lot. Nobody was hurt and our car doesn't have a scratch on it (I think he was going maybe 5 or 6 mph), but he was really freaked out. And then on top of that, the other driver didn't want to get a police report or exchange insurance information, but suggested Dylan just give him $200 on the spot. Fortunately Dylan kept his head together and did not do that - he got the guy's phone number instead. So we called him, and again tried to exchange insurance information, and the guy said well how about $100. And did not offer to share the photos he took with us. Which leads me to believe there is exactly ZERO DOLLARS of damage to his car and maybe other reasons he doesn't want the police or insurance companies involved, so no thank you, other driver, we will not be handing over any cash to you.
Ugh, Jessica. That is so stressful, but good job to Dylan for keeping his head together.
Oh man, good on Dylan. Not only did I freak out my first accident, but every single one to date.
Oh that is stressful. Maybe he didn't have car insurance? I know when I dinged someone's car she wanted, I can't remember how much, she didn't want to get insurance involved but when she sent me am estimate it was like $100 or something..
I had an issue yesterday and had an anxiety kind of attack and I had some very mild self harm feelings which freaked me out. (It stated with feeling dizzy and stomach pains). So had M take me to the nearby ER. And I had a stomach CT with contrast, some other tests, blood work, and the ER Dr also wanted to do a head CT but I couldn't with the contrast.
She thinks what is going on might be 2 different things but that I probably have some GI issues even my gallbladder. She said she had to have hers removed and hers looked fine on ultrasounds etc .
So I'm at the Drs office and have a ton to talk to him about. Especially interment leave. That way if something else happens related I have more freedom to schedule appointments without having to wait for days off and stuff
Maybe he didn't have car insurance?
Yeah, this is my guess. In which case I'm still not going to just hand him a random chunk of change without at least a mechanic/body shop estimate.
That said, when the reverse happened to me about 15 years ago (hit by a woman who was ADAMANT about not getting the insurance companies involved), I absolutely should have taken the $500 cash she offered me instead of insisting on exchanging insurance info, since the damage to my car was only about $75 and it turned out her insurance was expired, so nothing was covered.
