I got my carpal tunnel surgery (right hand) scheduled, yay! It's at the end of April, which means I can still do the Ladies Night at the Forge blacksmithing class April 11. (Recovery from the surgery is supposed to be fairly easy, but there's a restriction on how much I'm allowed to lift, so blacksmithing stuff might be too heavy.)

They're probably not too keen on the impact of swinging hammers at anvils for the recovery, either.

I fed alley cats late yesterday afternoon and got facefulls of dust-laden wind for about half an hour, which I think is the cause of my stuffy nose and raspy throat issues today. But I'm starting up the Zicam just in case.

Also, both cool and not cool, tons of key deer in the upper islands. Cool because they are so cute, not cool because people are feeding them which causes all kinds of issues. They have plenty of food that is good for them! They walk up to cars which is not cool at all.

Coyotes, especially in Joshua Tree Natl Park, do the same. Easy food and they don't know it's terrible for them. Keep wildlife unhabituated from people is the dream. Or, it's my dream.

Yay! Is it at Beacon Orthopedics? They've done four hand surgeries on me, and I've been really happy with them, except for some weirdness with scheduling.

It is! I really like the surgeon, and I've heard good things about Beacon.

Anyone with a bunch of travel coming up want a free three month membership to Clear Plus? They just sent me a few codes.

It is quite useful for cutting past delays if you’re flying at busy times. It uses biometric scanning, and then they walk you to the front of the security line.

It’s pure unnecessary indulgence and I’m sure they will try to sell you on the annual membership at the end of the three months. But it is very nice, I won’t deny that.

At one point around here they were doing an on-demand bus thing that took you from wherever to a nearby bus stop/light rail/transit center. A last-mile attempt of solution.

I have seen signs for that here but I haven't tried it, don't know how it actually works. Not a bus or shuttle in our case, it's some kind of deal with Lyft?

Blacksmith class does sound like something that might be contraindicated while recovering from carpal tunnel surgery, yes. Glad your scheduling works out!

dcp I passed on the word. My aunt said my uncle's step son got the same/similar diagnosis a year ago and has offered his advice and support.

I'm on my lunch and cut some of it short to go find out HR person because our older maintenance guy was on the breakroom watching Tiktok but thirst trap...are they naked ? Type Tiktok and he wasn't subtle about. She said she'd talk to him after his break but it turns out it's his day off. I don't think he has Internet at his house ..so he came here to watch that. And I'm going to definitely update her on that part

And I could hear him taking screenshots. Ugh .

Oh and someone used my email when they applied for some loans and checked their credit and one of the emails had a detailed report attached. I've deleted them all but it was weird.
